This song is the one that drug me into a 30 something year addiction to Aerosmith. I used to hear it on the radio as a teen ager and think it was from the band with a funny name. Walk This Way would become a radio hit about a year later and from then on, I was at the record store the day that a new Aerosmith album was released. Since this was from their first nationally released album, I took its meaning to be "we" (Aerosmith) are in this music biz (a dream) for the good or bad. The band was dirt poor from their inception until the mid 70's, but they were going to stick with it. Looking back at that now in 2007, all you can say is Wow! They became the absolutely biggest heavy metal band in the 70's, were abusing to the max and even split up. They were virtually dirt poor again and got back together in the mid 80's and have become definitely the most successful American rock band over the last 35 years. That's quite a dream..... |
