Peter And The Wolf – A Hundred Days Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Listen to the waves, the howl of the ocean A chain rattles the room. The voices, the wind, the sound of a world in motion And, crazed, we follow the moon |

Peter And The Wolf – The Bike of Jonas Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Ivori Palms Version I was just thinking about Cold nights under the southern moon Friends came to visit chill on the porch The rocking chair humming a mellow tune Warm wind blowin’ Cut off some sandals Long nights drinkin’ with the boys Not much to do For the rest of the evening These are the things we enjoy Over the bridges we ran Racing along with the southern moon Chillin with stories Open adventure I guess you gotta be going soon Gold in the river Dust in your hair I don’t have much to say Mostly concealing The depth of my feeling Hey look away, look away, look away Gold in the river Dust in your hair I don’t have much to say Mostly concealing The depth of my feeling Hey look away, look away, look away |

Akron/Family – Meek Warrior Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Great Song, I heard the Lyrics Slightly Different Meek Warrior Meek Warrior Courageous and Humble Wise Ruler Outrageous and Earthy The Inner Rider of the Infinite Oceans And Groundskeeper for all the infinite Moments That present the kingdom and present the realm And posit direction from starboard aft helm Run away, run away from these feelings Turn all the lights down Steal away, steal away from this heart break Turn all the lights off Directionless circles and motionless pails King of the mountain is paled back and bent over Carried buckets back empty and over Filled back and forth up and down Back and forth up and down Back and forth up and down Down hills we've seen And we've all decided Down hills we've seen and we've all decided Down hills we've seen and we've all decided To run away run away from these feelings turn all the lights down Steal away steal away from this heart break turn all the lights off |

"Sleeping Lessons" is the name of the *Track |
The Shins – Sleeping Lessons Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Personally, I seemed to believe the whole Alice in Wonderland thing as well, but I also think that since Mercer went public about how the entire album is about his insomnia, and the album is called "Sleeping Lessons" then I would have to say it has to do with his insomnia. But I still think that since Alice in Wonderland was a Dream she had and "Off With Their Heads" is a reoccuring lyric then that does still have some merit. |

The Shins – Australia Lyrics | 16 years ago |
James Mercer Said in an interview that the song is titled "Australia" because he was in Australia when he wrote it. H said the song is generally about working behind a desk for countless hours. He said he ued to have a lot of jobs that he hated and that this is about how he felt while working at them. The lines "All you want’s one more Saturday" and "They’re gonna buy your life's time" Shows his desire to have another free day as well as his feelings that working at such a job devours someone's life. Here are some other lines and para-phrasing "So keep your wick in the air and your feet in the fetters" Keep your hopes in the air but your feet are still shackled. "You’d be damned to be one of us girl Faced with a dodo’s conundrum" You'd be damned to be locked up like us, we're faced with a ridiculous puzzle. "You know he's holding you down With the tips of his fingers just the same" A reference to his Boss no doubt. "You'll be damned to pining through the window panes you know You'll trade your life for any ordinary Joe " You are damned to looking out at the world through the window, you'd trade your life for someone NOT in the same situation. "You're Himmler in your coat" Refering to his boss and using a metaphor saying that he is Heimrich Himmler the leader of Nazi Germany's S.S. |
