Belanova – One, Two, Three, Go! Lyrics | 13 years ago |
I'm a Spanish minor in college. :] Just tell me what you're feeling, I want you to try. "1, 2, 3, Go!" Don't lie to me, tell me, be sincere. You know what I want. "1, 2, 3, Go!" If you close your eyes, You'll see what I'm feeling. You'll see I like you, Tell me how you feel about me. I know you're there. Tell me about yourself. I wanna know it. Hey, boy, don't be afraid, You don't understand, I know what I want. Hey, boy, you're gonna be mine. You know full well that I only want you. I don't understand, I know you're afraid, I just want a kiss! "1, 2, 3, Go!" Don't lie to me, tell me, be sincere. You know what I want. "1, 2, 3, Go!" If you close your eyes, You'll see how I feel, You'll see I want you, Tell me how you feel about me. I know you're there, I can feel it. Tell me about yourself, I wanna know. |
Showbread – Mouth Like A Magazine Lyrics | 13 years ago |
i was revisiting this album today, for some reason my favorite line in this song "your spine is made of metal, veins, electric tape..." has always really caught me, i just think that line is freaking AWESOME. not that the rest of the song isn't awesome, but that line is especially so. |
Kaskade – Borrowed Theme. Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I think MsChizzy has hit the nail on the head. I think the singer of the song is the moon. She always wanted to be the Sun, maybe even thought she was the Sun, until she realized her light wasn't hers. She knows that no matter how much she wants to be the Sun, she never will be. But she still wants to be the Sun. And metaphorically, it's how we all wanted these dreams that society feeds us as children...but they're all just borrowed from the popular conceptions, and they'll probably never be real, and never be ours. But we still want those things. Just my idea. :) |
The Apples in Stereo – 7 Stars Lyrics | 14 years ago |
This song is so awesome. I think the meaning of it is, you can repeat a saying or a rhyme, (he's playing off of the saying of "rhyme (n)or reason" just like you can go through life not actually thinking about it – have you actually thought about it (did you wonder why?) It's so awesome when it totally explodes onto the chorus with the guitar and vocoder :D. |
Mike Posner – Cooler Than Me Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Apparently. Honestly, I think the random "cooler than me" statements that don't rhyme or anything are very refreshing – the song is very conversational and I think the way the lyrics kind of jilt and jolt the listener around with how abrasive they are works really well. |
DJ Tiesto – UR Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I'm gonna go out on a limb and disagree with the other interpretations on here. The song does sound very melancholy, but I think it's more contemplative. I don't think it's a separation of lovers. I think it's an almost obsessive crush being realized by the speaker, and he thinks it's out there and crazy, and he wishes he were a "better man," as in a man who can resist these emotions and never act on them because he feels they are so irrational, and as such maybe should "run away and never be found," just take himself away from the object of his feelings so that they don't get stronger and he doesn't ever say anything to her [or him, that would be an interesting spin on it.] I can understand the break-up interpretations of it, but I feel like a break-up interpretation is difficult to apply to the lines "My heart is elated / but my head is exhausted / this is powerful magic." That sounds very much like a man feeling an intense, sudden, love/crush/affection for someone. His heart is so happy and elated, but it's driving him crazy, he's going nuts just thinking about it and wondering what the f--- to do, should he ask her out, should he never talk to her... hence, his head is exhausted. The "plans" section is difficult to figure – but I think it's more of a reflection on how you have all these plans in your life, before he met her he had plans to do stuff not involving her and her likewise, should they abandon those plans and get together? Overall, the way I hear it is an expression of the duality of an all-consuming crush/love. Yeah, that feeling in your heart is awesome but it sure can make you feel like you're going insane. |
Neutral Milk Hotel – In the Aeroplane Over the Sea Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I know this is a super old comment, but the song is in G Major except for the dark "Now, how I remember you..." section which is in E Minor. There're a lot of songs in Major that are sad and plenty of songs in Minor that are happy – the mode/key signature aren't everything. If a song is in a mode other than Ionian or Aeolian, you'll notice because the melodies will sound pretty conspicuous or exotic. (ex: the Simpson's theme song is in Lydian mode). The whole song is G Em C D chord progression, (I-vi-IV-V) and the minor section is Em C G D (i-VI-III-VII). |
Lil' Wayne – Bedrock Lyrics | 14 years ago |
no, i think it's really "i knock the lights out and she still shine"... that's a very weezy thing to say, as in normally something couldn't shine with no lights on but when he turns the lights off (to get it :D) she's still hot |
Demon Hunter – As We Wept Lyrics | 14 years ago |
what in the world is going on with the time signatures in this song? and it's that which makes it awesome. |
Demon Hunter – Screams Of The Undead Lyrics | 14 years ago |
this song is, like many demon hunter songs, a christian band's song that EVERYONE can apply to their own lives regardless of their religion, which is the best type. |
Flo Rida – Sugar Lyrics | 14 years ago |
You guys are all overreacting... bands/artists do covers all the time! It's not a new concept nor is it something unique to Flo Rida. Lots of bands/artists do it!! What is the big deal?! I didn't see anyone bitching when Dope covered You Spin Me Round, and they performed it pretty much exactly like Dead or Alive wrote it, and it was awesome, and I bet you didn't get all pissed about it then... Flo Rida does it in a totally different style, adds his own flair to it, and suddenly it's a travesty... I don't necessarily care for his version of it, but it's not a "rip-off," it's just a COVER. And in addition, this song only uses the chorus to "Blue" and I'm pretty sure there isn't anyone who is unaware that the chorus is from the Eiffel 65 song... Besides, the rest of the song is completely original writing – again... what is the big deal? It's not even a sample, she actually reperforms it, it's no different from a frickin' cover, and it's even more original then a cover because like 75% of the song is new stuff! |

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, ah-ah, ahhhhhhhh, ah-ah, ahhhhhhhh. For some reason he sounds so cute singing that. It's beautiful. |
Silverstein – Worlds Apart Lyrics | 15 years ago |
the lyrics in this song are RIDICULOUSLY amazing with regard to poetic devices. assonance, consonance, repetition, alliteration... it's really crazy. *intro -repeated "all" (and "call" has the same sound) -same structure with "writing all my thoughts"/"broken all my bones" -structure repeated "you ___ it all ___" *verse 1 -the girl doesn't BELIEVE HIM that he's saying he's not a FRAUD = paradox -the paradox that the fact that he won't pretend everything is fine is what makes things not fine between the guy and girl -consonance "fraud/fine" -consonance "here"/"home" *chorus -following again = repeating something already unoriginal/tired -swallow/spit *verse 2 -"out of legs to stand on"+"stand here and fight" -entire mess of assonance and consonance with "these old habits die so hard" *chorus 2 -killing me/killing time (amazing) *bridge -changing locks/change you song is preposterously good. |
