Blink-182 – Dumpweed Lyrics 14 years ago
Ahaha.. to anyone who says this song is sexist: You're a giant fucking tool. No one would be saying a thing if a female musician wrote the line "I need a guy that I can train." This is coming from a female. Live a little.

The Killers – The World We Live In Lyrics 15 years ago
I think this song is about frustration with how people view our..day and age. Basically, stop complaining about society, improve it or live with it. You'll enjoy life more if you accept the world you're living in.

But I don't know, seems like most of you are either just praising or whining about the song..

Taking Back Sunday – I'm Not Okay (I Promise) (My Chemical Romance cover) Lyrics 16 years ago
I love both of these bands to death..

But this shouldn't really be on here. It's not even a cover, because the members of MCR were playing along with TBS. Yeah, Adam was singing, but that's only because Gerard got sick or something.

Ah. Oh well. I like it.

Taking Back Sunday – Twenty-Twenty Surgery Lyrics 16 years ago
this_glass_house - You're calling Adam a bastard because you THINK he wrote a song about someone in your favorite band? It's been years. The guy's moved on and I'm sure he doesn't care enough anymore to write a song about him.

ellie117 - You need to learn to at least RESPECT other people's music choices. Honestly. That's rude. I love Taking Back Sunday to death. What you said won't change anyone else's opinion--it'll just offend and annoy.

I pretty much agree with Jackeetbs's short interpretation. It seems like Adam's talking about a girl using him and through a "Twenty-Twenty Surgery" (maybe some sort of event or when they break up) he could see clearly and realized what she did. On a rather unrelated note.. Every time I hear this song, I think about vegetarianism.. even though I know it's not about it at all and the only veg in the band is Fred. "I do, I don't need you like you think
I do, I don't, I don't need you like you think"
It's like saying he doesn't need animal products, which I realize sounds like the stupidest thing anyone's ever said. ;] Oh well. It just makes me love the song even more.
"No it's not the quality that bothers me
It's the means"
As in the quality of the meat or whatever doesn't bother him, but how it's attained. Yeah, I'm gonna shut up now. hahaa.

Rise Against – The Good Left Undone Lyrics 16 years ago
I think this song is basically about the environment and how we're killing the earth. A lot of people commented that they think it's about love.. I don't totally disagree with them--I think he's reaching out for help and, well, consolation because he's so fed up with how people are destroying the world we live in. I may be wrong, but that's just how I like to see it. I believe all the members of Rise Against are vegetarians, which contributes to my theory.
"There’s a point we pass from which we can’t return." Every time I hear this line, I think about global warming and how the effects are nonreversible.

"All because of you,
I believe in angels.
Not the kind with wings,
No, not the kind with halos,
The kind that bring you home,
When home becomes a strange place.
I’ll follow your voice,
All you have to do is shout it out."
(Awesome, awesome lyrics.) I think the part about home becoming a strange place is supposed to be taken literally.. that soon our world will be so destroyed it won't be home anymore.

Yeah, well, whether I've got it all wrong or not, I still love this song and its lyrics.

Paramore – When It Rains Lyrics 16 years ago
Like people before me have said, I think this song is about suicide/depression.

"We don't miss a thing.
You made yourself a bed at the bottom of the blackest hole"
I think it's saying that the person in the song can't hide his/her depression from those who love him/her. You know when people say "you've dug yourself a deep hole"? Metaphorically speaking, the person in the song has dug a hole and isn't trying to get out of it--he/she's made a bed or a home inside the hole and is getting used to it.

"And oh, oh, how could you do it?
Oh I, I never saw it coming.
And oh, oh, I need the ending.
So why can't you stay just long enough to explain?"
The person may've attempted suicide (or possibly have succeeded), and it was unexpected. The singer--Hayley--needs an ending/explanation for why a person she loves would leave without a warning.

"Take these chances to turn it around. (take your time)
Take these chances, we'll make it somehow
And take these chances to turn it around. (take my...)
Just turn it around."
Hayley is offering help, and if the person would just accept it OR if they had accepted it, they could/could've turn(ed) it around. "Take your time" and "Take my time" mean that she's willing to wait and sacrifice to help.

My Chemical Romance – Heaven Help Us Lyrics 16 years ago
I love this so much. From the moment I heard it I adored it. I think it has a different feel to it in comparison to some of their other songs.

My opinion: He's dying and knows he's done some really bad things in life ("You don't know a thing about my sins"), so he can only hope he'll get to heaven ("And would you pray for me?").
"'Cause I'll give you all the nails you need" -- To build his coffin."
"Cover me in gasoline again" -- He wants it all to end.

My Chemical Romance – I Never Told You What I Do For a Living Lyrics 16 years ago
This song is definitely referring to the thousand men. The person must kill a thousand before he's reunited with his love.
"I keep a book of the names and those"
This shows he's keeping track of all the men he has killed so far.

You'll be a memory -- I was thinking about the same thing; I don't think he accomplished killing the thousand men for some reason or another.
"I tried, one more night, one more night
well I'm laughin', cryin', laughin'
I tried,
Well i tried,
Well i tried,"
So yeah, I think someone killed him before he could kill any more people.

This is a really good song, and the lyrics are amazing.
