I have a distant memory of a late 1960s news documentary about a runaway teenage girl named Marcy who got involved with drugs and hippies and all those evil 1960s things. This included a phone call to her parents. It seemed like that show was all anyone talked about for the next couple weeks, and then she disappeared from the national consciousness as quickly as she appeared. I've tried to google her from time to time over the years but got nowhere. Today I found http://www.mlive.com/news/flint/index.ssf/2011/01/finding_marcy_flint_visit_lead.html , which confirms that she wasn't a figment of my imagination. I recall when this song came out, it was considered fairly obvious that it was about this Marcy. |

| Cat Stevens – Sad Lisa Lyrics

He's a psychopathic kidnapper who has Lisa locked up in a dungeon somewhere. He's confident that if he keeps her locked up there long enough, she will finally come to realize that she loves him and start trusting him (since she has no other choice ("Cause you know that's how it must be)), instead of walking from wall to wall like a caged animal. |

| The Doors – Horse Latitudes Lyrics

The background sounds (I don't think you can call it music) appear to be intended to create the appropriate mood to convey the horse's perception of the whole event. He's in a strange environment, which is unsettling, but he's been leading a fairly predictable life the last few weeks, just standing in his stall converting food and water to manure and horse pee. Suddenly someone drags him out, brings him up on deck into daylight and all that confusion and then does whatever one has to do to get a horse to go overboard. (Maybe have him walk the plank blindfolded?) Then he's left to struggle helplessly in the water, probably surrounded by other horses doing their stiff green gallop. Eventually he's sealed over. |

Not sure about the lyrics, but the end of the song is definitely an orgasm. |
