Interpol – All the Rage Back Home Lyrics 9 years ago
I think the title, and lyric: "All the rage back home" is not intended to be interpreted as the traditional meaning of the phrase, but rather a reference to past demons. "All the rage" isn't a popular fad, it's more: "all my rage", and "Back home" is more: "in the past." Maybe he is trying to pretend that he has put all that rage behind him?

I think it ties well into the themes of the rest of the song, which deals a lot with past mistakes in relationships.

Drive-By Truckers – Cartoon Gold Lyrics 12 years ago
I think this song is about feeling OK about chasing the unattainable.

"Tending bar in LA after dark must be like mining cartoon gold
Rocks that won't cooperate and tools that drive you crazy must get old"

He's working in a bar in LA, and like so many others there he dreams of a higher calling, possibly stardom. but he knows what he's looking for isn't real, hence cartoon gold.

"A mule with only two legs counting steps toward dangling carrots don't add up"

Ditto with here, chasing a dangling carrot is a pretty common metaphor.

"Sittin' in a bar in LA after dark with my sunglasses on"

I like this line, he realises his journey may be fruitless, but atleast he can still chill with sunnies on.

Great song

Daft Punk – Revolution 909 Lyrics 13 years ago
Is it possible that the title is a reference to the Beatles? Specifically the songs: Revolution & One After 909

Just popped into my head

Fleet Foxes – Innocent Son Lyrics 13 years ago
I am pretty sure this entire song is a reference to the John Updike novel: Rabbit, Run

The novel is about a man who aboandons his wife and family, i think that fits a bit better with the other lyrics than a song about an actual rabbit.
