Yeah, I don't see this song having to do with the devil at all. Depression seems more accurate imo. "The memories that now rests in this forest Forever shadowing the sunrise of my heart" Maybe thinking of all the bad memories in this guy's life. "Wings leave their nest at my coming Swaying away unto the cold glowing sky" It seems like no one likes him and even birds want to get away from him. Also, describing the sky as cold would also show that he's really depressed. "Dreaming away for a while My spirit sighs in peace" He's dreaming of a much better life and feels at peace at the time. "Gazing unto the stars Please, take me there" He looks up at the sky/stars and wants to go up with them so he can get away from himself. "I am so alone, so cold My heart is to scarred to glow I wish the sunrise to come" Obviously saying he's depressed. The sunrise could represent the dream he was having. "Take my soul (away) From this cold, lonely shell I am free" He wants to escape. The part about him being free means that he started dreaming again. "From the eternal sea I rose Veiled in darkness on either shore Lost my pride, lost its glow For me the sun rose no more" This part is during his dream. The eternal sea signifies his life as it is, with darkness and depression all around him. He felt like he could never get away from it. "The forest of October Sleeps silent when I depart The web of time Hides my last trace" Still during his dream: The forest of October is the earth, which is no different (sleeps silent) now that he's gone to a better place. "My blaze travel the last universe Like the sights of magic" Still during his dream: He travels around to every universe. Everything is so joyful and seems like magic to him. "Wrapped in aeons My mind is one with my soul" Still during his dream: He finally feels one with himself; like all the separate parts of him that were scattered on the earth because of his depression are together now. "I fall alone While leaves fall from the weeping trees" He wakes up and snaps back to reality. Describing the trees as weeping would show you again that he's back to being depressed. So that's my interpretation. Could be wrong, but makes sense to me. Nevertheless, There's some great guitarwork in this song. |
