I'm not particularly happy with this translation... it gets across the message but its not literal.. more poetic.. (plus its taklen from hezeleid.com).. e.g. 'if he could fetch it for her' but the lyrics actually translate to something like 'if he can climb (for her.. not sure if this is meant to be in here)' but my german isnt briliant so i cant really say much ;) |

@ Balkazar I always thought 'fressen' meant 'to eat' but for an animal, and when it is applied to humans it means 'to eat like an animal' as in the english (colloquial) 'to wolf' meaning to eat quickly/messily e.g. 'he wolfed down that meat' so it may have less sinister connotations that 'devour' and as it is applied to a non-human entity (i.e. the wind), germans probably wouldn't use 'essen', but i could be wrong. someone tell m. |

so what.. i speak german (althought not well) and Rammstein are my favorite band just because you like to listen to crap music by people who have sex with their sisters doesnt mean we all have to... P.S. professor413 i have to say on re-reading what you have said that an apology may be in order... you said 'since Sehnsucht' which i read as with sehensucht.. i apologise.... |

| Rammstein – Benzin Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| oh and the 'kein Heroin' and the 'keine Frau' parts are about the buzz he/she gets from starting the fire and that because of that they dont need drugs or sex | |

Could be to do with the dependancy on oil and i see where that comes from but i thinks its about a Pyromanic/arsonist... 'Ich brauche Zeit': time to pour petrol/get matches/run from police etc. 'Willst du dich von etwas trennen...' that whole verse is him/her explaining their actions to police/friends/relatives... make sense to any one...? |

| Brilliant remake.... wasn't sure what to think when i first heard it but its really grown on me. My dad is a huge Kraftwerk fan and he seemed to like it! | |
| Rammstein – Seemann Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Personally I prefer the Rammstein version rather that Apocalyptica's mainly because its Rammstein and the vocals on the other dont suit it... it was designed for Till's voice, and he's a brilliant singer | |

Well sorry to dissapoint you professor413 but what Sehensucht album we're you listening to??? 'chilled out the kink' eh? what about the following songs... Teir Bestrafe Mich Du Hast (while not about sex or 'kink' does have the ambiguity of the line 'Willst du bis zum Tod, der scheide' which could mean 'death of the vagina' or 'death the divider' anyway i digress...) Bück dich (obviously) Speil mit mir (obvious again) Küss mich and probably a few others.... but i cant be bother to type any more. :) On Herzeleid there are only 5 maybe 6 songs that have kinky connotations or could be interpreted in that way, which is just as many as Sehensucht... I think i made my point. Plus i live the fact that Rammstein dont water down what they want to say... in most cases they make it obvious! :) |

I thinks its about the boxer... There's the whole 'Eins, Zwei, Drei.... Aus' part and the 'lässt dich hart zu Boden gehen und die Welt zählt laut bis zehn' showing hitting the ground and the count-out (or whatever) starting If you listen to the instrumental version, the music gets less and less powerful as the song goes on (you could do it with the real song but the lyrcis could distract you) this could be related to the boxer's aggression/tiredness.... bit of a far flung idea but it works for me... :) |
