i think it's about when somebody knows you want/like/love them and they just send you mixed signals because they like the attention. besides, after i graduated i realized that all the "popular" kids really didn't have that many friends, just their little circle that were legends in their own minds since elementary school so other people believed it too which gave them the title of "popular". but now over the past 4 years i've gotten to actually know a lot of them and become close friends with many. and it's weird, you think somehow those kids are different from you but they didn't have any better experiences than i had with my friends in school...we were all awkward weirdos, partying, sledding, doing fun shit teenagers do, being criticized for the same stuff by our parents and peers, working shitty jobs. the grass is always greener though so people in school now won't know until they're out in the real world that pretty much everyone was always on the same level and those kids are only as popular as the majority lets them be. |
