| i think its about media making a big deal out of drug addiction. when in reality, its a personal problem, no one elses business. 13 steps, like said before, is like taking the first 12 steps to recovery...and then the 13th step being relapse. a lot of the lyrics in this song are contradictory and make no sense. i think phil did that on purpose to show that trying to quit drugs makes no sense...cuz eventually you will relapse | |

this song is hands down all about bands that pose. just a statement by pantera that everything they stand for is true and not marketed. its funny because pre-1990 the band were amongst the cliche....but they learned from it...got better, joined the genre that i like the taste of....and then wrote a song like this to explain it |

poopytheclown and komodosp hit it right on the head. i surf this sight to see insight into lyrics, not to read fueds and opinions on how hard a dimebag solo is. dime never played the same solo twice anyway. he was an improving motherfucker, i miss him and i never knew him. its interesting to look at all the posts on the pantera songs and see posts before he was killed, and then posts after....its really sad. this song is beautiful, regardless of meaning.. PERIOD. |

This song IS about heroin, 10's is obviously a reference to the dosage like therion 1973 said. and just cuz he OD'd a couple months after the release of TGSTK, doesnt mean he wasnt struggling with addiction when he wrote it. |

i agree, phil can be VERY metaphoric, but this song is pretty straight forward in my opinion. If you watch the video for this song, it totally explains everything that it is about. |
