| The Moody Blues – Nights In White Satin Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I think you are right, it ends with a question, asking the reader something. The poem is about the night in general. He is portraying the night as not a very pleasant time. A time when you miss someone who is lost to you, when you feel lonely, or when you look back in regret and despair. Those nights in white satin can feel that they will never reach the end, when you feel like this. But something under the sun looks different than under the cruel hearted orb of the moon. Something colored red in sunlight will look grey in moonlight, and something yellow looks white. What is it's true color? Ultimately, it is the individuals perception which will color the truth. And my perception may not be the same as yours. Sometimes our perception will change. What was once grey, now suddenly is red. The things we are thinking about tonight may look differently to you tomorrow. And the night will be what we make of it. Nighttime, to some a brief interlude, To others, the fear of solitude Red or grey. Which is it for you? |

| The wizard is Jesus. The song is about a spiritual awakening to the message of love and peace, with Jesus as a guide and bearer of this message. In my experience, a wizard is often used in literature and music to represent Jesus. | |
