Am I the only one who thinks this song isn't just about a relationship? Seeing red could easily be a reference to shooting heroin (when you find a vein, you check to "see red" at the base of the needle so that you know). It also includes lines like: "And baby, I'm aware of the high and the low And I'll be waithing in the middle But I just lack control" Which could easily be a reference to the effects of the drug. I'm not sure if I want to say the song is about a relationship between users, or if the relationship is a metaphor for drugs... but either way, it seems to me that drug usage/addiction probably plays a part in the meaning. |
