The Decemberists – On the Bus Mall Lyrics 17 years ago
I apologize if someone else already answered GravityAlwaysWins' question. A Bus Mall is a central location where all of the buses go, usually in a downtown area, so that riders can switch between bus lines. The bus mall in Portland, where the Decemberists are from, is located near Pioneer Square, in downtown. Many "street kids", a nickname for teen runaways, ride buses downtown because they are free there. Portland has one of the largest populations of teen runaways, so it makes sense that the Decemberists would write a song about it.

Bush – Swallowed Lyrics 17 years ago
I have heard Gavin Rosedale interviewed about this song, and it is about addiction. Believe it or not, it is primarily about addiction to ciggarettes, although addiction to other things may be part of it as well.

OutKast – Rosa Parks Lyrics 17 years ago
Rosa Parks was offened that Outkast named this song after her, and sued them in federal court. The song eventually made it all the way to the Supreme Court, and Outkast and it's record company were forced to pay damages to Ms. Parks.

OutKast – Humble Mumble (feat. Erykah Badu) Lyrics 17 years ago
This is the only song that Andre 3000 did with his lover, and the mother of his children, Erykah Badu. They later broke up soon after this album was released.

The song is about humility, and accepting your place in life. Thus the line, "Humbe as a mumble in the jungle of shouts and screams".

The line from Isaiah states that no weapon formed against the followers of God shall be successful in battle. Andre 3000 is a Chrisitan and a Pacifist, who rejected the violent ways of his rough upbringing in the ghettos of Atlanta.

The lines beginning with "Too Democratic, Republic fuck it", refers to the lack of difference between the two political parties, and their inability to help the middle class.

"Blue-collar scholars, who'll take your dollar and wipe my ass wit it" refers to the union movement, and how they use dues to pay for economic studies that do nothing to help the working class. Both Andre 3000 and Big Boi were union members when they worked for UPS.
