Econoline Crush – Sparkle And Shine Lyrics 15 years ago
I'm not sure about whether or not Trevor was very close with Shannon, but it is fact that the song is dedicated to him.

I saw them live a couple nights ago with Alice Cooper, and yes, he did mention it when introducing the song.

Cute Is What We Aim For – Marriage To Millions Lyrics 15 years ago
I'm drowning myself for sure
I'm thinking

Is actually:

I'm drowning myself with sober thinking

and

I love the way the city sounds
I'm yours today, I will be found

is actuallly:

I love the way the city sounds, I know someday I will be found

Gob – We're All Dying Lyrics 16 years ago
"Drug ourselves
Underground"

That line makes me wonder how many people will misread it to think that they are using the word 'drug' as the past tense of 'drag' instead of actually 'drugging' themselves.

As for the song, I think it's blatantly obvious when it comes to the meaning. It's about addiction, although without a specified drug, alcohol, nicotine, etc.

The Arrogant Worms – Don't Go Into Politics Lyrics 16 years ago
This is my favourite song by them.
It's so blatantly, sarcasticly, truly brilliant.

Less Than Jake – Soundtrack Of My Life Lyrics 16 years ago
It's a nice song I suppose.

I always thought it was about somebody who lives their life, but doesn't like it, and lives their life to their "Soundtrack"

Savage Garden – To The Moon And Back Lyrics 16 years ago
"She's taking her time making up the reasons
To justify all the hurt inside
Guess she knows from the smiles
And the look in their eyes
Everyone's got a theory about the bitter one"

To me, the first verse introduces you to a girl who's hurting, but she's not sure why she is. She's fearful of the people around her because of the way they judge.

She's just waiting for a perfect boy to take her away.

He didn't write it; it's an Indio cover. ;D

Yes, awesome song.

The meaning is rather obvious.

Avenged Sevenfold – Trashed and Scattered Lyrics 16 years ago
The first line really hits me deep (Keep on writing you're just raping yourself) because I'm a writer. I write stories, and I know I'm better than a lot of people out there (although I don't really think about it like that...). And I feel like that first line a lot when I meet people who have no ambition, and don't feel the words they're writing at all, words which are terrible but people praise them on it anyways. I hate that.

To me, this song is a huge "FUCK YOU" to the media, every single one of their "fans" and all the people out there who think they're so cool because they listen to a "goth" or a "metal" band, and even the people in their lives who have no idea who they really are.

This is my favourite A7X song, by far.

I think this song reflects the feelings they are portraying in the lyrics.

Disturbed – Land of Confusion (Genesis cover) Lyrics 17 years ago
Disturbed...can't say they're my favourite band, but I don't necessarily dislike them. I suppose I like their version of the song only slightly more than Genesis' version simply because of the power they put behind it; made it sort of like an anthem which encourages us to scream along and enjoy the song, as opposed to the original version which my mom listens to on a regular basis.

Rock on...?

submissions
Three Days Grace – Never Too Late Lyrics 17 years ago
Sometimes I listen to Three Days Grace's songs like these and go "Geez, I know exactly what he's trying to get across," but then I take another look and it's all face value; all I see now is plastic.

Plastic.

submissions
Sex Pistols – Anarchy in the U.K. Lyrics 17 years ago
The Sex Pistols did nothing for punk but reuse and recycle what other bands before them had already done, and bringing punk into the mainstream; into the general audience.

Sid Vicious was nothing special except a pretty face and loud mouth freak in a fucked up relationship and in a band(who coincidentally actually got famous for it).

RIP Sid anyways.

Johnny Rotten...was...just another overrated member of a band which honestly did nothing for Punk iteself.

But I love them anyways.

Anarchy in the UK is basically what we should be seeing today - but we're not.

Sting – Fragile Lyrics 17 years ago
This song is beautiful; almost comes off as a negative outlook on the positives of life...

I really do not like Sting, but I have to admit this is an amazing song. When I first heard it on the radio, I had to immediately download it. I don't regret it.

I still do not like Sting very much at all, yet this song shall remain one of my favourites - at least for the next little while.

The Panic Channel – Why Cry Lyrics 17 years ago
I think he's saying that he's learned what he's needed to, and he's not going to forget so why should he cry about it? Like saying that it's not worth crying over.

But I'm probably wrong.

Dope Stars Inc. – Bang Your Head Lyrics 17 years ago

John Mayer – No Such Thing Lyrics 17 years ago
"I want to run through the halls of my high school
I want to scream at the top of my lungs
I just found out there's no such thing as the real world
just a lie you've got to rise above"

I do, I really do, although I didn't just, I know it is. Did that make any sense?

submissions
Stone Sour – Sillyworld Lyrics 17 years ago
^ What he said.

"Freedom's just a word today
Freedom's just a word
When someone takes your word away
It's seldom ever heard
So take your sentence full of things you're not supposed to say
and carry on but don't write it down or you'll be gone"

That's a few lines I can actually relate to.
I'm not necessarily the biggest fan of Stone Sour, and I certainly am NOT a fan of Slipknot. But this song has appeal I have yet to figure out.

Fall Out Boy – Don't You Know Who I Think I Am? Lyrics 17 years ago
Well it said "Dollar for your Insides" in the album cover.

Amazing song btw...but there's not much I really want to say about this one.

Marilyn Manson – The Bright Young Things Lyrics 17 years ago
Fake abuse for our bios.
Blacken our own eyes.
Grass isn't greener on the other side.
We set it on fire.
And we have no reason why

---

Although I agree with what Alexis507 said, I like to say things myself as well. That verse above is my favourite, not just of the song, but the album too.

I think it's sort of saying, 'we're like this so too bad.' I was shown this song by my friend and she told me that the first thing she thought of when she heard the song was me.

A stupid little goth kid, as I'm called in school.

submissions
Marilyn Manson – Ka-Boom Ka-Boom Lyrics 17 years ago
"We're tasteless but taste good"
---
Despite whatever that above line may mean, it helped me through a lot of tough times (Like when I was balancing on the edge of Anorexia) and it still helps me today. I sort of repeat it in my head, and it helps me eat...I'm fucked I know.

---

Amazing song, and although nowhere near as good as Antichrist Superstar or Mechanical Animals, sitll an absolutely amazing album.

Billy Talent – Covered in Cowardice Lyrics 17 years ago
Loose Lips Sink Ships is one in a million cliche phrases used by artists such as Billy Talent and Fall Out Boy.

I think this song is about teasing, verbal abuse, and saying things that you don't mean. They're sort of telling you to be careful about who you listen to, and who's words you take to heart, I suppose. Because when people gossip, it's not them that gets hurt, it's the victim of the gossip.

I think it's kind of blatantly obvious.

Nelly Furtado – Powerless (Say What You Want) Lyrics 17 years ago
CORRECTION: Nelly Furtado is from Victoria (as am I), not Vancouver. She is Portuguese, yes, is she talking about herself, or Canada? Or even Victoria? No, not necessarily.

She's talking about those issues in general. Why is she suddenly getting all the bashing when four million other bands/artists out there have songs of same/similar topics? Don't even answer that.

My Chemical Romance – The Sharpest Lives Lyrics 17 years ago
I'm looking at this again, but this time I'm thinking VAMPIRES has no place in this song. It just doesn't seem right; like MCR stuck them in there for the sake of still being MCR. Is it just me, or does anyone agree?

Sum 41 – Angels With Dirty Faces Lyrics 17 years ago
Once in a while, I'd like to just listen to a song instead of picking it apart and cross-analyzing it. This is one of those times. Just let the music take you away, if only for a moment, no matter how much you love Sum 41. Just once, give the music a chance.

Now that I've gotten that out, this song (if not for the title) did not catch my attention like all the other Sum 41 songs do. The lyrics were skimmed, overlooked, and passed for just another song. Had it not been for the title, I wouldn't have even given it a second glance.

Let's just say the title makes the song.

Angels With Dirty Faces.

The Goo Goo Dolls – Naked Lyrics 17 years ago
This song means a lot to me, and describes how I feel a lot of the time. Sitting here and wondering, does anybody hear a thing I have to say? I think it's about being surrounded up to a point you're lonely, when you're rejected from everyone and everything you once found familiar because you they don't understand how you feel, or don't acknowledge you.

It's about expression.

Gordon Lightfoot – Sundown Lyrics 17 years ago
We shouldn't even try to decipher this song. Some songs lose their beauty as their disected line by line. Gordon Lightfoot is amazing, that much I can say.

Cleavage – Bored And Gorgeous Lyrics 17 years ago
This song makes me think about all the times I wish my life were a little more difficult, if I were in someone elses shoes for a bit more of a challenge. I have almost everything that I could possibly want ontop of everything I could possibly need. I AM so bored.

Bryan Adams – Summer Of '69 Lyrics 17 years ago
*sniff*

Oh and i look back now,
the summer seemed to last forever
and if i had the choice
yeah, i'd always wanna be there
those were the best days of my life

I cry everytime I hear this song, because it reminds me of a time when nothing mattered. Grade seven, I'd finally found a place I belonged, and real friends who didn't talk behind my back. Then high school happened, and everything changed again. I still have those friends but it's not the same anymore... They were really the best days of my life. =)

Bryan Adams – Remembrance Day Lyrics 17 years ago
(First Comment!) This song is about, well, Remembrance Day. Very self explanatory.

-People think I have problems because I listen to Bryan Adams. I look at all my friends who listen to metal like me, and I'm shunned because of the music on my mp3. I'm sorry, but people need to open their minds.

Bowling for Soup – High School Never Ends Lyrics 17 years ago
This song cracked me up the first time I heard it. Not only is it sadly, pathetically true, but it's followed with a catchy beat that got stuck in my head for two months. CURSE YOU BFS! That ALMOST beat the record for song stuck in my head the longest! (Iron Man by Black Sabbath, two months and five days)

Bowling for Soup – Girl All The Bad Guys Want Lyrics 17 years ago
This band is entirely pop, you can get rid of that punk part (if you actually like REAL punk music, listen to the Misfits, Joy Division, the Exploited or something). I laughed so hard when I I hear this "Girl all the bad guys want" listens to Godsmack. Those guys can't write for shit. (I'm sorry, but they can't) This song is all about lust, and material posession. Just think about it for a second. Does BFS have anything worthwhile to say, or is all their music just pointless pre-teen poppy rambling?

Billy Talent – Burn The Evidence Lyrics 17 years ago
The line "He's Gonna go out with a bang" pretty much says suicide. I think he feels like there's no way out because he hasn't learned the proper way..."Boy who always did what he was told" It's got a partially happy ending too, as it appears he sucessfully erases his past, and moves on with his future, "Burn the evidence of my existence". Personally, this is my favourite of the new Billy Talent songs. I quite like the beginning.

The Arrogant Worms – Forgive Us We're Canadian Lyrics 17 years ago
You never realize how real this is unless you're Canadian. A little while ago when the PS3 first came out, I was watching the news. They showed a clip of people from America shoving each other around, waiting outside for the store to open. They showed a clip of Canada, everyone waiting patiently in line. And sometimes, I wonder if maybe we're insane.

Marilyn Manson – Use Your Fist And Not Your Mouth Lyrics 17 years ago
"I woke up today and wished for tomorrow, I don't want to be like anyone else. I woke up today and wished for tomorrow, I don't want to even be myself" -I think that's Manson saying, well if you want to make me one way, why would I want to wake up in the mornings? And if you don't want me the way I am, why should I change for you, but why should I want to be like me? At least that's what I think.

Marilyn Manson – The Golden Age Of Grotesque Lyrics 17 years ago
I think this song is about Modern Day America obviously. I can't say much, for one, I'm still a teenager and I know next to nothing. Another thing being, I'm Canadian. But I can say this. IT'S DEFINATELY SARCASTIC.

Marilyn Manson – Disposable Teens Lyrics 17 years ago
I think this song is about everything. Everything from Christian beliefs, Columbine, and being a fucked up teen, to Abuse, Humanity Issues, and Sex. 'Cause that's kind of what Marilyn Manson seems to do. Write his songs about everything, easily misconcepted as a pure nothing. =)

I tend to write the lyrics "You say you wanted evolution, the ape was a great big hit. You say you want a revolution, man and I say that you're full of shit" on everything from my windows to my homework. The disturbing thing is that my teacher recognized it as Manson.
