This song is defiantly about a guy who messed up his relationship and realized what hes done wrong and is now doing the things his girl wanted him to do like scrub the plates and weed out the garden, and when he says, "Swallowing glass just to stay pure" he means he'll do anything, even things he'd really rather not do, to get her back but shes already left and she's over him, and he's realizing how much its going to suck without her...oh and this song kicks ass...alot |

I heard in an interview that Jack and his wife spent 4 months in Europe and they bought a V.W. van and I'm just saying that may have inspired the van lyrics cause you know he talks about a van then theres the whole "Le Bois d' amour" lyrics that may hint at that inspiration cause you know thats not English |

I think this maybe a song about two people and an age difference like when JEW says "here we are now a sip of wine a sip of water" like wine someone being older and water someone being younger then when they say maybe someday will be smarter is like when one of the two people mature, get it? All and the girl who commented above, dosn't JEW do that? They just make you relate no matter who you are to thier songs its a shame your like that though. |

Man I just miss the 90's. Songs weren't so serious back then and we had songs that made no sense and no one cared if they did or not. |

I don't think this song is metaphorical at all. I think it is really about a volcano. I just think Jimmy wanted to a ridicoulus song. I'm not saying its bad It's one of my favorite songs but really it is ridicoulus. |

| Jack Johnson – Situations Lyrics

Ithink this song is really like this though a I totaly respect everyone elses interpetions. i think its like this,
Situation #1- I think this is about an opertunity(spelled wrong) that comes up and ypu think you have all the time in the world to grap it but then you never do and you wonder were all the time want.
Situation #2- I think is about doing anything to get that oppertunity back because its your only chance and normaly its not a god thing you have to do driven by i think hating yourself for missing the oppertunity.
Situation #3- You try to tell yourself you weren't suppossed to sieze the oppertunity in the first situation and the path you took in Situation #2 was the way you were suppossed to go even though it was wrong. Thats why its the one no one sees and thinks its fate.
Situation #4- You keep looking back at the oppertunity. You keep wanting it so you keep wanting more out of life but you screwed up and youll be feeling that until another oppertunity arises. |

| The Fray – How To Save A Life Lyrics

Ok you guys are right about it being about talking to a drug addict (I cant spell) But it has personal meaning to me about a relationship. It reminds me of after a couple breakes up. They want to remain friends so the girl (which is who "you") in the song talks to the guy (who is the he and the I from my view) talk. While the girl is trying to talk the guy is being the same jerk he was when they were going out so she "wonders why she came." THen the guy is thinking to himself "were did I go wrong I lost a friend." Then the how to save a life part. When you dont care about someone that much its like they don't exist to you. So this guy is saying that he would have stayed up talking to this girl all night so he would still see her as a friend but he didn't so he would never see her again and she would not exist to him anymore so its like shes dead to him now, but if he would of talk to her he "would have saved her life" Yeah i know thats a weird interpetion but thats how it relates to me. |
