...i don't think the lyrics in the booklet are accurate, sounds like he says: Lying by a 'sad' machine (instead of 'dark) Before anybody gets into an argument (not likely, very few people have heard TGTBATQ) it started off as a love song to Albarns partner, but then when that whale washed up that river, he changed it to a song about that whale...Now the lyrics make sense note the whale calls everynow and again in the background |

Apparently murdoc died and went to heaven (dont get lost in heaven) then SOMETHING happened (murdoc is god....wow!) something like that....or maybe heaven is not the spiritual heaven and it's just telling you to keep grounded to realety even when things are going really good ( notice all the imperfections noted during the song) |

the most commented song here. Almost everybody thinks that it's drugs related. probably is, there's no law saying one song can't be about drugs. Then i could be about how music is made by you, so it is your slave....(wtf?) and then it talks about how you can pick your music or how you can pick bits to customise it. and then it mentions how music changes us so we become a different person. then it could be about how he showed you some truely terrific music and you really love it. then to finish it all off, you are possessed by the beat or something. "The essence, the basics, without it, you make it. Allow me to make this childlike in nature. Rhythm, you have it or you don't, that's a fallacy. You're eyes are seeing the surrounding debaucher of music's image that the 'enterprise' (like the music version of 'whitey', you know the ones that think they can own music) has created. y'know the corruption in disguise and you're believing its lies (their version of music is the only correct one). But once again you're sticking it to the man...not aggresively but through music ( percussion). he if being lead (guided by rythm), but now that you're seeing the truth, you no longer rely on sight (who wants to look at clouds all days?) so now you can see the rythm ( what IS the correct metaphor for the rapper?!?) because you're now using your mind to doubt the 'enterprise' So now he's using Russel to play out his thoughts and to teach us, and he's sticking to all those mf'ers and telling to use their brains (remember where the thought is) so when the enterprise finally breaks down they can use their street smarts to survive (make their own tunes). And then we hit my fav: "no squealing, just remember it's all in your head." that means that all these tunes and beats are locked in your head and that's all you need. then the chorus: "I ain't happy. I'm feeling glad. I got sunshine in a bag. I'm useless, but not for long. The future is coming on." - no idea, maybe he dislikes liking the music he listens to, but he knows that it's about to get better? I could be completely wrong, but im just offering an alternate theory....maybe it's something like that.....probably is about drugs.. |

"some of us will never sleep again" Drugs? NO to some people dracula is scary, some might say so scary that they'll never slepp again. (nightmares or the fact that dracula is nocturnal) seriously, the word 'drugs' should be censored for all gorillaz songs. |

pretty sure the words GHOST TRAIN say it all. for those of you that don't know what a gost train is, its a spiritual train (or even bunch or horses and carts)filled with ghosts, that appear in hainted area, that go speeding straight into walls and disappear. sounds like his baby is dead, so he killed himself to ride the ghost train with her.
