Well, I like your interpretations very much. I'm sure it's about a guy who is sitting with a sick person, who is probably dying. When I read this, I remembered when my mother was very ill and I looked after her. "Now I'm breathing I could not breath until you did I'm one second after you Just a second after you" That's what it's like when you hear that the sick person you care about stopped breathing for a moment. You hold your breath... wait one second... and then another... And when she breaths again, so do you. You are always a second after her. "Someone inside your room Who is it there behind you? What does he want from you?" I think he sees a dark figure of some sort, standing by the bed - it's Death, of course, but he doesn't know it, or doesn't want to realize it. That's why he asks "who is it? what does he want from you?" He knows damn well "who" and "what", but can't accept it. If you're still not sure about it, here is another line: "The bird is here, I can see the edge of his wing". So maybe it's not Death, but Angel Of Death? And he sees him as a bird. "Paren't died and left their child Unattented for a while" "If you die now how can I then live on" That's what I was affraid of, when I was much younger and my mother was sick. What will happen to me, if she dies? It's quite egoistic, actually... "Sleeper what did you see?" "Sleeper's song will you listen to me sing?" I think that the sick person is in the coma, and he is wondering if she can hear him, and what did she see in her "dream" (if I can describe coma this way). That's what I think. Could be wrong, but... I'm pretty sure I'm right. Anyways, great song. |

I think it's about a guy who's so frustrated, he's having homicidal thoughts about killing everyone he hates and blames for the fact he's a looser. I guess he's never killed anyone yet and it's impossible to say if he ever will. Many frustrated people occasionally have thoughts like these... Believe me, I know something about it. |

| The lyrics are quotes from "The Diary Of Jack The Ripper", which is rumoured to be written by the killer himself (propably James Maybrick), but nobody ever proved it. The diary was published in 1992 and is believed by many people to be forgery. True or not, it's a nice piece of reading right before bedtime and a wonderful inspiration for a death metal song. A great song, I might say. | |

I heard an interesting theory about this song once... The whole "TSOP" album is filled with sadness, despair, hopelesness, fear etc. Not only the lyrics, but the music as well (all the "crying guitars"...). That's why the CD ends with "Painkiller" - to KILL all this PAIN. Otherwise the listener could blow his brains out or something. |

About "make walls talk"... Hmmm... I think it means something like: "a really brilliant person (and, in quiffporn's opinion, such person CANNOT be a death metal fan) should have the ability to do things which seem impossible for all the others, like, for example, teaching walls how to talk. So, if you are intelligent (just because you dispise death metal, of course) prove it by doing something unbelievably smart (which, again, in quiffporn's opinion, members of Mortician aren't capable of), like making walls talk". Personally, I consider it a great insult. I'd be honored if somebody insulted me this way. And by the way... Mortician is something I'd call "a fun-band". They're not supposed to be treated serious, as musically as lyrically. If you don't like them, don't listen to them, don't think about them, forget about them. Period. That's what quiffporn cannot manage to do. |
