| The Classic Crime – Who Needs Air Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I've always thought that Matt writes his lyrics to mean many different things. While I do agree it may be about God and Christianity, it could mean other things as well. I think that's what Matt wants to say. He wants you to take your own view on it and be enlightened from his lyrics. In my opinion it's talking about happiness and the content he has with life. That he's so happy that nothing can bring him down, even drowning in his problems. | |

Well, I could be wrong, but it could be about Bush and the War in Iraq. Here's my support. "Welcome to the war" Self explanitory. "A martyrs challenge" Since many people see Bush's war as a war of Religous Faith, he's saying that it's hard for even Jesus to approve. But I could be wrong, don't bash me. "Chainsaw brutality. Tornado strength" Good metaphors, but that's self explanitory too. "King of the diamond, king of the grave" Bush is the leader of 'a diamond' the most powerful and richest country in the world. But he's also the person that sends people to die, from their stand point. "lawlessness stains black on whitewashed tombs" Refering to the 'unlawful invasion' that costs many soldiers their lives. The soldiers are represented by the 'white washed tombs'. 'we're too strong to compromise. don't be ashamed of your faith' the former is saying that America is too strong to compromise with the enemy. The latter can be many different things. But in this sense, I think it's telling Muslims not to be ashamed. Though I could be wrong. "Dear lord deliver me from hypocrisy and surcrease the scarlet desire", Bush is hypocritical, 'scarlet desire' is his quest for blood. "He wears a slick jacket and a gold watch/his dishonesty has scarred hands" Bush, as well as all presidents, wear fancy suits, and often gold watches. "Dishonesty" is the conspiracy that he lied. This is pure speculation and opinion, remember. Don't be mad at me if you think I'm wrong. |

| Escape the Fate – The Day I Left The Womb Lyrics | 19 years ago |

***I Hate triple posters*** Anyway, I've been listening to the song and this is what I got from it. His mother left him when he was too young to remember her. Probably was a drug addict or seller, etc "No recollection or smell of your perfume" and "So use your chemicals and take this to your grave" support that. His brother was a drug addict as well, "Put your needles down" and was highly affected by being trapped in his hell of a town, "The best thing for you is to leave this awful town" His father was the only person who was there for him, "You must be proud of the boys that you have raised...Your cuts and callesus..." meaning that his father was overworked with the duty of having two kids to take care of. Finally, the song is a letter to his family telling him that he is finally okay. Which is pretty obvious. Good song. |

| Escape the Fate – Situations Lyrics | 19 years ago |

I think the song is about a woman with a husband or boyfriend that doesn't really enjoy her husband and uses 'Ronnie' as a sex object. My main evidence is, "She can't behave and I'm just a slave" Saying that she can't 'behave' and stay with one man and uses Ronnie as a sex object. And the line "I love the girls who love to hate" meaning she hates her husband/boyfriend, and that attracts Ronnie to her. "Leave me, go where you belong" Go back to your husband/boyfriend "Don't worry I'll be gone when the morning comes" He'll be gone before her husband/boyfriend gets back. Yeah, that's just what I think of the song. It's an awesome song, and Escape the Fate is an awesome band. |

| Unearth – Giles Lyrics | 19 years ago |

I did a little research and came to a definite conclusion about the song. It's about a man named Giles Cory, who was wrongly accused of being a wizard during the Salem Witch Trials. He refused to enter a plea, ("Condemned I will not plea") and the state couldn't lawfully execute him due to that. Therefore, the townsfolk wanted to torture him so he would give a plea by using the Peine Forte et Dure (placing heavy rocks or boulders over a person to crush their body). But he wouldn't say a word the entire time until seconds before his death, in which case he muttered "More weight"("Peine Forte et Dure...Has failed, and surely will die with me"). He was the only American to ever be killed using the Peine Forte et Dure methods. Some corrections to the lyrics (And yes, I realize that even the lyrics booklet has mistakes). "Corey" should be spelled "Cory" and "Ayer" should be spelled "Oyer". |
