I like andrew's double entendres in his songs, like in this one, "We met for a movie, every scene was a sign we made out through their meaning", like that could mean the obvious, like they made out during the movie, or it could mean they made out the signs in the movie...good stuff, that andrew's a thinker. On a side note, i think la la lie has nothing to do with his friends lying to him, the song's about a girl who's giving him problems for one reason or another, and his friends will help him pull through until he comes back to her. |

My favorite line of this song is "We're still the same impulsive drunks we were when we were small...SOMEONE GET THIS MAN TO A HOSPITAL!" haha, i know someone could take this all seriously about him having to go to the hospital for an OD or something, but I picture it as an inside joke or something between his friends, like they were drinking too much one night and someone passed out and one freaked out and screamed, "Someone get this man to a hospital!" haha, that's funny to me |

i recently read an interview with andrew mcmahon and in it he said Dark Blue was written about the 8-9 mos. he and his fiancee were not together. i originally thought some of the songs on Everything In Transit were about him being sick with leukemia, but the album was finished before he even knew he had it. |
