IAMX – Running Lyrics 15 years ago
I think it's "the touching that calms regret", also.

Freezepop – Emotions & Photons Lyrics 18 years ago
This song is one of the reasons Fancy Ultra Fresh will always be one of my favourite ever albums.

The Birthday Massacre – To Die For Lyrics 18 years ago
It does to me, too. There's not *much* of a difference, but I still prefer the original Nothing and Nowhere version.

Muse – Megalomania Lyrics 18 years ago
People always cite Micro Cuts as having the highest sung note in a Muse song, but just listening to this now I'd say the screams at the end of Megalomania must be pretty close.

Sparklehorse – Dog Door Lyrics 18 years ago
Wow. For two minutes and forty-seven seconds, Sparklehorse turn into Nine Inch Nails.

Scooter – Aiii Shot The Dj Lyrics 18 years ago
Hahahaha...
Pretty decent track but it's so hard to take the guy seriously! He so does not have the right voice to say that he's "chasing the punani" and shit :D
The "check eeett" at the end makes me laugh so bad...

Great video btw.

Lots of references in this btw... "wind it up" (Prodigy) "comin' at ya like Cleopatra", "horny", etc...

Andrew W.K. – Ready to Die Lyrics 18 years ago
In response to all the people informing us that Andrew W.K is a bad musician:

Simply put, unless you get as much enjoyment out of aimlessly slagging off artists like Andrew as I get out of listening to them, I pity you. I'm prepared to bet that I enjoy a significant proportion of the music you enjoy as well as Andrew W.K., and when I find a band I don't enjoy, instead of complaining about it to people and getting stroppy when they disagree, I *don't listen to it*. From what I can tell, I end up having a lot more fun than you guys.

This is such a sexy song :D

Good Charlotte – The River Lyrics 19 years ago
It's a good song, but it's kindof ruined for me by the religious message...

Röyksopp – Someone Like Me Lyrics 19 years ago
I don't get it; why do people dislike this album compared to the first one? I've not played this one much because of the fuckbastarding copy control on the cd making my mp3s sound all buggy, but from what I've heard it's just as good as Melody AM...

Coldplay – A Message Lyrics 19 years ago
This song makes me cry like a big dumb emo.

Frank Zappa – Don't Eat The Yellow Snow Lyrics 19 years ago
The album Apostrophe contains:

Don't Eat the Yellow Snow
Nanook Rubs It
St. Alfonzo's Pancake Breakfast
Father O'Blivion
Cosmik Debris

...which can be found in a single MP3 on the web, so that's one version you might have heard. Other versions omit Cosmik Debris (rightly so - it's not part of the medley). The single version combines Don't Eat the Yellow Snow with parts of Nanook Rubs it. There are a couple other versions bigger fans than I will better tell you about.

Pendulum – Slam Lyrics 19 years ago
I think it's cause people generally don't look for songs with no (conventional) lyrics on a site about the meanings of lyrics.

Bloody good song though.

Wheatus – Dynomite Satchel of Pain Lyrics 19 years ago
When I first heard this, "Damn I look good in a tie!" made me laugh SO HARD.

Slipknot – Spit It Out Lyrics 19 years ago
fuck me, I'm all out of mayonnaise!

Wheatus – The Song That I Wrote When You Dissed Me Lyrics 19 years ago
Anybody else notice that the little keyboard riff (?) after "Just tell your mom you're gay" is the hook from Teenage Dirtbag?

Manu Chao – King Of The Bongo Lyrics 19 years ago
This should be deleted... the song's called Bongo Bong.

Godspeed You! Black Emperor – The Dead Flag Blues Lyrics 19 years ago
I can still not quite bring myself to play through this entire album... too, too intense.

Godspeed You! Black Emperor – Sleep Lyrics 19 years ago
I agree with Radiofloyd - this is by far GY!BE's greatest piece of music, and in my opinion one of the greatest pieces of music out there in general.

Hobart/Weartherobe: That's the bit. Although the grunting is more noticeable at around 15:20ish. I only noticed it fairly recently, which is a surprise given how many times I've played the track. I kind of wish I hadn't noticed it, but I can deal with it.

I so very much hope GY!BE get back from their "extended hiatus" someday... especially given the quality of Yanqui UXO.

In the mean time, can anybody recommend any artists/bands/groups/whatever who make similar music to GY!BE (in particular this track, since Sleep is rather different to a lot of their other work)?
