| Bathory – Destroyer Of Worlds Lyrics
|
It's about the 1945 atomic bombing of Hiroshima.
"The eighth moon the sixth day the year death"
Eighth moon = eighth month (August).
August 6th, 1945.
"Brought high on R marked silver wing"
The airplane which dropped the bomb was called the "Enola Gay"; it was silver and had an "R" painted on its tail: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enola_Gay
"Afar in cold thin morning air
Below as the day begins"
The bomb was dropped at 8:15 AM local time. |

| Celtic Frost – Progeny Lyrics

This talks about how God was created by man, and if that is so, then man is the only God there is. In the speaker's case (Tom?), he feels so hopeless and misanthropic, that if he really is God, the world over which he reigns is a desolate wasteland. For example,
"If I am you, no life is sacred in my hands
If I am you, no love will prosper in this world"
Translation (IMO):
If I am God, the world I have created is one in which life is trivial and love is an illusion.
Definitely an anthem of nihilism. |

| Dream Theater – Panic Attack Lyrics

Yes this describes a panic attack, only thing it left out was the apparent feeling of difficulty breathing and a heavy weight pressing on the chest. First time I had one I grabbed on to my desk and I had no idea what was happening to me. I wonder if this song was written from personal experience. |

| The Prodigy – Their Law Lyrics

This song is about the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act passed in the UK in 1994, which basically restricted the rights and increased penalties of various practices which the right-wing viewed as dangerous, like squatting, various forms of activism, raves, and so on. So this song is a reaction both to the direct "crackdown" against ravers, but also against the suppression of the individual's freedoms. |

Normally I'm not a fan of comments that don't describe the meaning of a song (most posts on this site), but there isn't anything to explain about the Beach Boys' lyrics, because they're as simple and straightforward as you can get. So instead I'll just point out that this is an excellent song, and be sure to also listen to the instrumental version on Stack-O-Tracks. |

There's always one of those.... it's also a good description of an up and coming serial killer. Wasted Youth's greatest song. |

Anyone else think Jake's old style of vocals sounds better than the shrieking on Jane Doe? When he's screaming here, he sounds possessed. |

There is something about this song that gets a powerful reaction out of me every time I hear it. As far as I am concerned only a true masterpiece can do that. |

Meaning? What meaning? The only meaning this song has is utter disconsideration for both the listener and human life. This is one of my favorite songs. |

CHILIS is right, this song is about drugs, not manwhores, retards. The razor blade is a reference to cutting up cocaine, not injuring a "client" ...wtf?
This is one of my favorite Ramones songs, it captures the essence of early punk rock, the guitar sounds great, the drumming is awesome, the vocals as well, this isn't one of those "beach fun" tracks, this is punk, served '76 style, razor blades included. |

This song just obliterates all posers on the dance floor. I can't get enough of it. This is a grade A tribute to The Prodigy in the days of Music for the Jilted Generation. |

This could be a return to one's forgotten past self. Or it might just be a fictional tale, meant to be taken literally. Either way, this is Emperor's greatest and most majestic song. Nothing else they have done comes close, yet they have a lot of other good songs.
Emperium, emperium... BEHOLD MY COMING!!! |

| The Prodigy – Break And Enter Lyrics

Who really knows what this song is about, if anything, but it certainly is one of the electronic masterpieces of the 90's.
The album that it appears on, Music For the Jilted Generation, had an overall theme of youth rebellion against the British government who had passed the Criminal Justice Act of 1994 (read about that elsewhere).
This song is known, among other things, for its famous shattering glass effects. Based on the samples in this song, as well as the overall mood, and the title of course, I am led to believe that it might be about the government breaking into parties to go after ravers, or perhaps in a more symbolic way it could represent the invasion of authority into the people's domain (in this case, the life of many partygoers at the time).
As far as the lyrics are concerned, which are only one line, I have no idea what they mean. They are done by Baby D "Casanova" and that's all I know. Either way, this is one of the great electronic songs of its era and has influenced many later works by various artists. |
