Say Anything – Yellow Cat (Slash) Red Cat Lyrics | 15 years ago |
To me it's just a guy looking around at his strange friends who are just like him and how they pass the time and the shit they deal with...this is how spend their days and deal with their inner conflicts (cat vs cat)...smoke pot, make fun of MTV, and talk women...this is my interpretation of course and thats what makes this band and Max's lyrics always awesome are there flexibility and the way they can be applied to any listener somehow...underrated band very underrated song |
T.I. – Swagga Like Us Lyrics | 16 years ago |
one of the best lil' wayne verses ever the top 4 mainstream rappers in the game right now 4 sure...true classic |
M.I.A. – Paper Planes Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I was way off I guess but I always thought it was weed and bones like a blunt pass the bone kid i guess i just listen to too much wu-tang haha I saw pineapple express and had no idea it was in the movie or trailer but from the minute i heard it i just thought it was either a. just a cool stoner song or b. a commentary on our capitalist make money by any means necessary lifestyle and the current generations embrace of that concept...or maybe its a little bit of both...or neither who knows |
Modest Mouse – Florida Lyrics | 17 years ago |
"I stood on my hearts porch thinking oh my God I probably have to carry this whole load" When that line comes in it just blows me away. Every Modest Mouse song sends me deep into myself...there shit makes you think...and that line just defines that for me. Damn good song...cant stop listening to the new album. |
Staind – King Of All Excuses Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I saw Staind live with Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace, Crossfade, and Hinder and it was one badass show. This song was one of my favorite moments. Not sure who he was talking about but when Aaron introduced the song he said "This song is about a piece of shit." then ripped into that killer riff. Fucking AWESOME! |
Led Zeppelin – Dazed and Confused Lyrics | 18 years ago |
As heavy as it gets! This is the ultimate stoned out of your mind headbanging tune ever. My favorite off the debut album and my favorite Bonham performance. |
Led Zeppelin – Babe I'm Gonna Leave You Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Joan Baez performed this in her early days and Jimmy Page heard it when he was with the Yardbirds and thats when he started to write this amazing arrangement. Next to Dazed and Confused the best on the debut. |
Bob Dylan – A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I feel like a jackass. The LINE THAT "GETS ME EVERY TIME" is I saw guns and sharp swords in the hands of young children. I wrote as I have always heard it. For some reason thats what it has always sounded like. Weird. |
Neil Young – On the Beach Lyrics | 18 years ago |
The title track for the greatest album of all time and no comments. What a shame. |
Neil Young – Sedan Delivery Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Makes me think of a drug runner or a life of crime. Hes got several wives and hes super cool and hes makin another delivery of chemicals and sacred roots. Im probably way off but I love the song. |
Neil Young – My My, Hey Hey (Out Of The Blue) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
The greatest rock anthem of all time. Nuff Said |
Neil Young – Falling Off The Face Of The Earth Lyrics | 18 years ago |
My favorite song on Prairie Wind. Love those high pitched vocals. Great stuff. |
Neil Young – Cortez The Killer Lyrics | 18 years ago |
My Top 10 Neil Young Songs- 10. Barstool Blues 9. Motion Pictures 8. Bandit 7. Pocahantas 6. Albequerque 5. Ambulance Blues 4. Danger Bird (obviously) 3. On The Beach 2. Cowgirl In The Sand 1. CORTEZ THE KILLER!!! Although that list changes from day to day, Cortez never leaves the top spot. When you first hear the song you don't even need to know the title or the subject matter. The guitar and bass and drums just mesh perfectly to create a sense of wandering out at sea then his pitch perfect vocals ... arrgh its just to good! Neil simply doesnt get the respect he deserves as a writer or musician or an influence on the generations that followed him and the best part is hes still going strong today. It just doesnt get better than Neil and Crazy Horse. Long may they run! |
Neil Young – Albuquerque Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Best use of a pedal steel guitar ever! Albuquerque is a great rock song and Tonight's the Night is one of the great rock albums. |
Neil Young – A Man Needs A Maid Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I love Neil Young and I hate the arrangement of this song. It's all just a little over the top for me. Then me and my Dad were just sitting around jamming on an acoustic guitar and he broke out into this song and I discovered its beauty. To my Dad, the song means that after years of being wronged the various women in your life, you just reach a point where you say screw it in a sense. It sounds like Neil is saying he just wants somebody to come by and take care of what he needs then just get out, no relationship pains. Its a very cool version my Dad does and it makes me wish Neil himself would have released it solo acoustic. |
Black Sabbath – Warning Lyrics | 18 years ago |
It's a cover of some Russian Blues-Rock band's biggest song or something, I don't know for sure. The only thing I know is that it's awesome. I bought We Sold Our Souls For Rock N Roll because it seemed like cheap way to own Sabbath's biggest hits. All I knew of was Iron Man and War Pigs. Then I hear this bluesy masterpiece and become obsessed with their sound and Ozzy's unbelieveable vocals. One of the truly great under rated Sabbath songs, or any kind of song for that matter. |
Bob Dylan – One More Cup of Coffee (Valley Below) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I LOVE THIS SONG! It creates such vivid imagery. My interpretation is a little out there but I think it's viable. An Arabian outlaw character infiltrates this rich, evil Sultan's kingdom and falls for his beatiful daughter, but her loyalty remains to her father, so she betrays him and he is to be put to death. But not before treating himself to One More Cup Of Coffee. The song's Middle Eastern flair is just so badass. Bob Dylan is genius. From folk to blues to rock to something unique as this. He's just great. The White Stripes do apretty cool cover of this on their debut album, putting a pretty cool garage rock spin on it, very bare bones. |
Bob Dylan – A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Simply one of Dylan's greatest lyrical triumphs. It spoke to his time and the whole 60's scene and amazingly translates to todays growingly hostile environment. Every single line in the song fills me up with a different emotion. Each one makes me think of haw the world is falling apart in various ways. The most heartbreaking line is "I saw a gun that shot swords into the hands of young children." It gets me everytime. Yet in the end, we see him standing up and it gives such hope I'll know my song well before I start singin. It just sounds like the beginning of a great journey. To sum it up, Bob Dylan is the man. In these times of trouble, we need more artists like him. |

Gomo – I Wonder Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I saw this on the International Music Feed and it is just one of the coolest sounding songs I've ever heard. The horns in the background are sweet. Its one of my favorite sort of mellow out tunes. Beautiful. |
