Sinead O'Connor – Black Boys On Mopeds Lyrics 18 years ago
My favourite Sinead O'Connor song, maybe even my favourite song ever. Pretty obvious in it's meaning, good to get a dig in at Maggie.

Chevelle – Well Enough Alone Lyrics 19 years ago
Wouldn't it be great if I could interpret the song in the first comment?! Well I can't see anything obvious standing out at the minute, apart from the fact that it ROCKS! It's definately quite a dark song, reminds me of feeling alone at night, nightmares and such... Someone help!

Terra Naomi – Up Here Lyrics 19 years ago
It's obviously about the whole performing to people - "And I can see you from my place on the stage," i mean not everyone's gonna like you are they?!

Nirvana – Do Re Mi Lyrics 19 years ago
Well! It sounds to me like Kurt has done what loads of people, including myself do when writing a song. You play the music and sing whatever is floating about your head. Sometimes you get something good because it's subconcious, so it always has meaning.
Alot of the lines in the recording are incoherant and read like badly translated Japanese per say. After all, you have to remember it is only a demo, like a home recording.

Bush – Cold Contagious Lyrics 19 years ago
All Bush's songs have the same ambiguous lyrics, for a reason... Gavin Rossdale clearly writes stream of conscious as i wish i could as easily, that is to say, whatever comes into his head goes down. this means that a lot of lines will seem unconnected to anyone but him, because only he knows what each individual line means. its subconcious and thats the beauty, and allows it to be left open for interpretation.

rossdale was deemed as a kurt cobain copycat back when bush started, this style of lyrics being one of the reasons - kurt said that he just wrote lines that sounded good, but didnt always mean something... but in such a style it always does when it's sub concious.

i love bush!

Evanescence – Heart-Shaped Box (Nirvana cover) Lyrics 19 years ago
You're all so far up your own asses, "oh it can never be as good as Kurt!" So? That's opinion, not fact. I'm a huge Nirvana fan, and think about it, no one ever thinks the cover is better than the version they are used to, because it sounds odd, and not right. But here, it's not trying to be the same, it's just someone singing a song they love, to share it. Did they release it all over the place? No. I like it.

And by the way, Tori Amos has successfully covered Nirvana, so much so, you'd hardly recognise the song, but it shows that well written music is good in what ever way it is played. The string quartet tributes are also pretty decent! Ha!

Lifehouse – Ordinary Pain Lyrics 19 years ago
I can't believe no one has commented on this!!! It should be much more than a B-side. Check it out, I'm guessing most peeps ain't heard it. I believe he's just saying instead of worrying, enjoy what you have when you have it, inother words, be grateful!

Eels – I Like Birds Lyrics 19 years ago
He just loves the way that birds are free to do what they want with no worries...

Slowblow – Aim For A Smile Lyrics 19 years ago
Hardly anyone must have heard this song, but I did! It's at the end of an Icelandic film called "Noi The Albino" and it is perfect in filling the beautiful emptiness that has gone before.

30 Seconds to Mars – A Beautiful Lie Lyrics 19 years ago
I think "a beautiful lie" can also relate to something that's explored in the matrix, about reality. Obviously Mr Leto doesn't use this as his main subject, but when I saw the album's name, before I heard the song, that's what I thought about.

30 Seconds to Mars – Edge Of The Earth Lyrics 19 years ago
Although the apocalyse may be a theme, I don't that's what the core subject of the song is...

He clearly mention's about looking to the future, about making big choices, taking risks ("walk right inside of the gun" and trying to make your own destiny and not letting fate decide - "you wanna be the one in control"
