This is one of Flogging Molly's catchiest tunes. I can see how it's about being pissed off, "The way the blood still dances beneath the skin".. Interesting that the song has such an upbeat and optimistic sort of sound to it, yet it's about anger. Awesome song! |

i find it interesting that the band got so popular in England. I've been a fan of them since the beginning back when no one knew who they were. I like their 2 latest albums a little less than the old ones. It's almost like they are changing their sound to appeal to their fans in the UK, they used to sound gritty and country-ish, but now they sound like an English band!
You can still hear the talent through all of the post production and synthesizing however. I don't know why they didn't have as much success here in the US, but even so it kind of makes me a little sad to see them become a huge stadium-band, I liked them more when they were kind of underground : ) |

My fav songs on BoTT were Ragoo and Fans, so it's interesting to see that other people think that this song is in the same vein, because this has to be the most infectious song on the album for me so far. "Don't knock it, don't knock it"..only KoL |

Here's a factoid about this song: It was produced with the intention of having it marketed toward radio stations in the U.S. You can tell too, because this song tends to appeal to people who havent' listened to Marley much, more than his other songs. Not to take any credit away from this song, I love it as much as I love any song by Bob. It's just a lot more "mainstream" sounding, like some of his last songs were, and unfortunately those are the only songs he's usually recognized by. |
