Alice in Chains – Bleed The Freak Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Yes, Jerry Cantrell is an idol that should be worshipped to the end of days. This song is great. One of my faves. No matter what the exact meaning of it, to me it says "Go fuck yourself" to all the people who gave them shit. |

Yes because Jerry Cantrell is an idol that should be worshipped to the end of days. Great F-ing song. One of my faves. To me, no matter what the exact meaning is, it just says "go fuck yourself" to all the people who gave them shit. |
Staind – Layne Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I couldnt agree with you all more. It just makes me glad to see that Layne had an effect on so many people, not just us common folk. Layne has plenty of tributes. And rightfully so. I found a Black Label Society tribute on this site. But there are plenty more on the Web. |
Black Label Society – Layne Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I think Layne has so many tributes because he was honest. He in no way tired to hide his pain. He displayed it so that others can learn from it. Neither did he want any pity. He accepted full responsibilty and didn't want others to go down the same path. And for that we all absolutely love him. And that is by far not the only reason why we love him. RIP sweet Layne |
Alice in Chains – Rain When I Die Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Rain When I Die is not about Demri. This song is on Dirt, released in 1992. Demri died in 1996. Another AIC song that can be interpreted in many different ways depending on the circumstance or situation of the person. Back when I was doing as much research as I can on AIC and Layne Staley, I actually tried finding if it actually rained when Layne Staley died (RIP sweet Layne). I found this site that showed the weather records for the Seattle area in April 2002. Out of all the days, on the 5th, 6th, and the 20th, there was no data. Whether it rained or not on his death, it rained in our lives as well as the music industry. I know Im a big loser. Who cares. |
Alice in Chains – Rotten Apple Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Nice to way to become acquainted with some if AIC's best songs, on the Jerry's (the Great) birthday. I've caught 2 of the 6 shows they've done this year. The Atlantic City show in tribute to Heart and the New York show at the Bowery (both shows were amazing by the way) and Mike Inez uses the beginning of the song to tune his guitar i guess. I start screaming everytime he does it. At the Bowery, I was right under him at the stage, and when he did it again, I scremed "Yea Mike!" and he smiled at me. It was kinda cool. I love this song so much. Def one of my faves. Everyone can relate to it and Staley and Cantrell were an amzaing duo, another McCartney and Lennon of our time. They were so in sync with each other. I can only hope that we come across another duo like that in our lifetime. |
Alice in Chains – Shame In You Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I used to have a hard time trying to interpret this song, but sliznut clerared it up. That sounds about right and agrees with what Layne was trying to express in all his writing, including in Mad Season. |
