Everything that this song is about has already been beaten to death. Nonetheless, it's such an amazing song; Manson captures that 'end of the road,' quiet desperation feeling so well.
Yeah, what the Columbine kids did wasn't right, but then again, everywhere I look , this whole fuckin' world is pretty damn wrong. And it's even worse when you actually try to rise above it, to "be a part of the solution!," only to find out that something stupid like a small set of chromosomes that determine your looks would stop you every fuckin' time.. |

And before anyone interjects with "What about RATM, you moron?," I'm fully aware that Tom Morello served as a DJ for that band. However, his DJing was nowhere near as integral to the sound of the band as DJ Lethal is to LB. In addition, RATM had more of a politically charged sound, whereas LB was more frivolous in their lyrical content.
When all is said and done, it may not be the deepest sound (although there are some LB songs that are deceptively deep, like Re-Arranged), but it was nothing like going to LB show and head-banging and moshing all the anger out of your life |

I'm also of the opinion that 'simple' does not necessarily imply 'bad.' This song is what it is: adds humor to the often times grave nature of living in today's world.
As for LB's sound in general, I have to say that as a kid, and even today, I believe they did many original things in terms of music. They were the first band that I'd ever heard (and still one of the the few today) that 'successfully' mixed a 90s metal sound, rapping, and DJing into an angst-ridden sound. If it wasn't for bands like them and 311 spreading the Nu-Metal sound, you prob. would not get bands like Linkin Park (which I think is another one of those "Cool to hate on" bands). And, of course, the nostalgia...nothing like growing up listening to a specific sound to let you appreciate it years later. |

Having gone through MANY 'friends' within the last year and a half, I feel I understand what this song's about. As someone else commented, it's about all the assholes in our lives that take advantage of our kindness, until we finally can't take it anymore. Either we move on with our lives having become wiser and less gullible, or we let the many wrongs that those people have committed against us fester, until it erupts. At about 5:50, the song kicks in after the fairly long bridge, representing one's anger finally taking control of them... |

Or how bout you stfu nsts and let people express their opinion. I concur with trevor, it's a cool song to listen to baked. I'd also add this it's also fun to roll to this song, as a DJ at a local rave recently remixed this song. I'm guessing it's the beat with the synths.
As to the meaning, typical NIN: Regret and eventual Apathy. |

Eh, I agree w/ the previous comment that Eminem has far more talent, but it's still good to see a song like this every now and then, you know, that's just for fun. And besides, Eminem is an artist, but he's a businessman too..it's all about walking a fine line, and I'd say he's done a FAR better job than most rappers. |
