this wasnt made to spite rollins in any sense. when rollins got asked to go play with black flag he asked ian what he shoudl do and mckaye straight up said "go for it" so rollins sold all his shit for a plane ticket. i think this song has to do with the early years of the band but dont quote me, just read the minor threat chapter of Our Band Could Be Your Life, its good and they talk about the meanings of a handful of minor threat songs. |

ian wasnt attacking religion in this song, he was attacking blindly following it without thinking for yourself. he's verbally made this statement in an interview. dont jump to conclusions mamaduck |

| Minor Threat – Salad Days Lyrics

this song, i'm pretty sure, is about Ian going back to his home to and getting crap from people who use to give him praise, and on top of that, the song also has to do with the break up of the band, and how relationships became somewhat hostel towards the end and how back in the bands early days things were better. this was the last song minor threat ever wrote for a reason. they explain the lyrics to this song and handful of others in the chapter over minor threat in the book "Our Band Could Be Your Life" i'd suggest anyone who would come on a songmeanings forum to read their chapter in it. |

i'm guessing this song has to deal with sex appeal in cigarette ads, not sure the meaning of the words "1-2-X-U". flex your head is self explanitory. |

first off, no one cares what genra they fall under, cause they'll always be Fugazi. so quit bickering. secondly, take that elsewhere, this is supposed to be about song meanings
secondly, to getitrightpeople, i disagree with you (respectfully) i think the song is more on an individualistic plain. i think the song talks about valuing your time and staying productive and meaningful in life and always trying to take steps forward towards your goals. this also plays into their straight edge ideology because intoxication is hardly productive, generally. |

i think pretty much everyone is off so far. Lockheed Martin is a nuclear arms manufacturing company (currently ran by dick cheney's wife). "do you like me" could be metaphorical, but i can only see "Lockheed Martin" being literal. other than that i cant make any sense of the lyrics. cause none of it seems parallel. |
