| Garbage – Man On A Wire Lyrics | 13 years ago |

Hmm. I think this song is about facing your fears and not being afraid of that insecure voice in your head that tells you that you're not good enough. I think she was talking about herself trying to conform to what others wanted to be accepted but finally standing up and being herself. "I shot my fear in the face". |

| I know that if you look up these lyrics anywhere online you'll get "On the fringe, shit, Jesus Christ man you sure wanna nail him", but I could swear the lyrics are: "All my friends said "Jesus Christ man, you sure wanna nail him!" | |
| Bif Naked – Twitch Lyrics | 19 years ago |

I don't think this song is about Bif sleeping with the same girl as her boyfriend. I think the song is about a relationship between a guy and a girl. When things go wrong between the two{i.e. "When he's feeling sad and lonely"), he runs to Bif and cheats on his girlfriend. Bif refers to his girlfriend as her "toy", meaning that she is just a pawn between Bif and the boy. Bif feels that with him coming to her, she pretty much controls their relationship. I'm thinking she's using the term "twitch" as a description to his actions when he realizes what he's done and pulls away to return home to his original girlfriend. But, he will be back again. Hopefully that made sense. |

I agree that this song is about adultery as well mainly because of the "Cuckold eyes" verse. Michael Stipe is stating that he wasn't faithful in the relationship. He broke a promise to remain faithful (whether it be marriage vows, etc) However, he feels that they will be able to over come his unfaithfulness, they can live with the reality of the curiosity to stray away from relationships and now they will know him cheating was a mistake, but it's in the past and just a lesson learned. He also says that he realizes that Molko is incredibly upset about the broken promise and he can't say or do much to convince him of anything else. He can now only experience the same thing happening to him. Molko claims that he is hurt and upset about Michael Stipe's unfaithfulness. He feels that Stipe could possibly could have no idea what Molko is feeling, that his apologies are empty and they're offering him no peace to the fact that Stipe wandered. He doesn't believe that Stipe couldn't have enjoyed cheating in the relationship, sort of saying "If you knew it was wrong, why did you do it?" Molko rests in the fact that he will get Stipe back. He will wait for his turn to wrong him in their own relationship. He will gain peace in watching Stipe suffer as same as Molko has. Their relationship was based on a bunch of "broken promises", but Molko's threat/idea to harm Stipe in the exact same way is a promise Molko will keep. My thoughts. |

| Placebo – Infra-Red Lyrics | 19 years ago |

I think this song is a about a person who has wronged Molko many times. So much so that their actions are beginning to get predictable and Molko isn't going to stand aside and take the abuse (physical/emotional, etc) anymore, he's fighting back. He's using the analogy of "Infra-red" as a way of saying he can see clearly what this person is going to do/say to him next. There's no use in this person running because he can "see in the dark", or knows exactly what this person is doing, is going to say or where they will be next. I agree with the above that this song is a threat. He's telling the person that he's ready this time for this person's attack and they should basically be scared. His taunting of "Someone call the ambulance, there's going to be an accident", is pretty much "Be afraid, I'm going to get you back this time." The "accident" verse is Molko telling the person that it was a mistake to mess with him, and as a result of the mistake there's now going to be an "accident." That's what I think. |

I think that this song is about a breakup, and longing for what could've been, or how things "should" be. In the first verse, I think Molko is explaining that this person is hard to persuade or convince. If he could somehow get to them (i.e. tear from the ceiling) he would be able to more rationally explain things to him/her or convince them that he is still the same person they originally came to know and love. (i.e. "Remain your funny valentine.") The second verse, he sings that he would like to be able to explain to this person that without him, their life would have no meaning as his currently does. Basically saying that they were meant for each other. More dramatically so, their relationship would give their life meaning, a reason to live. (i.e. "I'd fill your every breath with meaning.) He would also like to find someplace where they won't be bothered or swayed by others or the world, and they can peacefully remain happy just the two of them. (i.e. "And find a place we both can hide.") In the third verse, he is saying that if he could have things his way, he would perfect it to that of their relationship/good times in the past and "freeze it", so he will always have it. (i.e. "I’d freeze us both in time") He would do things differently this time (i.e. "I'd find a new way of seeing.") If he could have it his way, this person would be once again madly in love with him, and he would acknowledge it this time, as he would have it no other way. (i.e. "Your eyes forever glued to mine.") During the chorus, Molko is begging the person on the other end not to force him to realize that he/she won't be coming back. He will feel "blind" in both the sense that he won't be able to look at anyone or feel the same way again, and would also be lost and without a sense of direction or meaning to his life. (i.e. "Don't go and leave me, and please don't drive me blind.") At the end, he acknowledges that he is aware that he is the culprit behind the decay of their relationship, still he reminds hopeful that he will be able to convince this person that things can be the way they used to be once again. (i.e. "I know I broke it.) Very nice song. And that's my interpretation. |
