| Dimmu Borgir – Tormentor Of Christian Souls Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Hahahahaha I really love this site. And I escpecially love all these people who are commenting this song... it is always as amusing. The meaning of this song, so that you FINALLY understand that this is not plain shit: The "satanist" tells us all those things he/she could do with a christian to torment the christian. But the "satanist" won't do that, because he/she doesn't find pleasure in that. Instead, the "satanist" will remain calm in the shadows - he/she doesn't even need to touch the christian with one finger, or anything - and laugh at the poor christian when he find him/herself in trouble. You may not like what it says, but it is still a good way to express "don't start killing your enemies, stand in the shadows and behold as they get ruined psychically, and then laugh at their misfortune". If we talk about the musical part, it is a great song, symphonic black metal \m/ |

| Dimmu Borgir – The Conspiracy Unfolds Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I think you are wrong, partly at least. This is a rather LaVeyan Satanic view on the whole thing. It is about Satan, but not about a priest or the antichrist. "I" in this case is Satan, your nature and instincts that are in everyone of us. "Let the one who is fit Be the King Of the heavens above And all worlds down below" Those who are fit enough should survive. It is inspired by Darwinian "The survival of the fittest" - just as LaVeyan Satanism is inspired by it. If it would be the antichrist then it would be about "fuck the church, our side (the Devil) is the winner", but in this case, it's most like "Let the one who "is" the Truth win, instead of believing in spiritual imaginations". The Devil and God are spiritual, supernatural beings. Satan is not. |
| Manowar – Master Of The Wind Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Indeed, that was very stupid of LordElfstone. It is a song with DEEP lyrics. I like the line "There the road begins where another one will end". Times change, and "the road never ends". Or, to be more correct, when it ends, you just find yourself walking - continuing - on a different road... nothing is as bad as it seems. |
| Dark Tranquillity – Misery's Crown Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This song is about the people Dark Tranquillity hate/dislike. I'm sure, Mikael said it when I saw them live. | |
| Dream Evil – Into the Moonlight Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Awesome song! I love it. Great intro and everything. There is one thing, though, that I they REALLY did wrong, and a thing that I would change: it is that the drummer only plays on the snare. I thing it would be much better with double-bass + hi-hat + snare (kinda' standard drum-stuff). |
| In Flames – Dialogue with the Stars Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I fuckin' love this song... it's really calming and I can feel cold streams running through my body when I listen to it (because it's so great). I especially love the title... it's kind of abstract. A Dialogue with the Stars. The song really gives the feeling that you are being lifted up to the stars (the melody + the guitar playing thirds are contributing to it). |
| DragonForce – Valley of the Damned Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Kids, kids! You are so stupid. Dragonforce songs (and many other power metal songs) doesn't have a meaning. The lyrics doesn't say anything in this song. I mean, in most Dragonforce songs. It's just cliché power-metal lyrics with cool stuff. Power metal isn't about religious stuff, if there is some deity mentioned in power metal lyrics then they sing "GodS" |
| Rhapsody of Fire – Holy Thunderforce Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Yeah Rhapsody rocks. Although, when they recorded this one Fabio (their singer) obviously couldn't talk english back then. This is what I hear at the second verse: aran en arezious wellanobi warriah' humbel wego bragooooo caos and oblivion tumour and disorder winan wonen weee belle spole mio, swino fino forcze' scarzas penis spaniii ala falas monte, awa see yo' faio crunch by holy throat |
| Cannibal Corpse – I Cum Blood Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Haha, nice lyrics. I mean, 900-1000 posts... that's a lot. There you go, if you want attention you should make songs which have grotesque names (for example Dying Fetus has such songs, apart from CC) | |
| Manowar – Swords In The Wind Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Many norse-stuffs are false or don't make sense (think about Amon Amarth too) but still, it's metal and cool as hell! Manowar rocks, and so does this song! |
| Dimmu Borgir – Grotesquery Conceiled (Within Measureless Magic) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Yes, this song could be about that, otherwise it could be " some kind of LaVeyan thing. "Pour misguided fool ... It is not god you are talking to I am not impostrous, hiding behind perly walls However, i am still yet to be found, known" It's like there is a guy who is christian but he can't see that there is no God, and he didn't find the God inside himself/herself yet. "There is no god but me" It could also be about the devil, but I rather think that this is some kind of LaVeyan thing, since Dimmu has reaaally many lyrics which sound very LaVeyan or something in that direction. |
| Manowar – Metal Warriors (Brothers of Metal, Pt. 2) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Manly men in metal! | |
| Ensiferum – Dragonheads Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| SERIOUSLY, I LOVE, I fuckin' love this song! The thirds (harmonies) are awesome, the folk music parts are amazing and the whole feeling is incredible. The lyrics are very epic as well. The song is simply about some men sailing somewhere on a stormy sea, but they are not afraid because they believe in the Gods, that they will help them. Otherwise, if they die, they will still meet again in Valhalla. | |
| Dimmu Borgir – Entrance Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Worship arch angels??? Wtf are you talking about? Dimmu Borgir are atheists and LaVeyans! Otherwise it was a pretty good song-theory or whatever I could call it. |
| Ensiferum – Into Battle Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This is one of the most epic and awesome songs I've ever heard! The harmonies (thirds) in this song are just wonderful and the guitars, the solo, the acoustic break, the vocals... everything. Just a masterpiece. Anyways, this song is about riding into war, not being afraid and preparing to kill, and perhaps even die. |
| Dimmu Borgir – Da Den Kristne Satte Livet Til Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This song is about someone who is waiting in the darkness until he finds a christian who he kills. (to be short) I love this song, it really is a great black metal song. |
| Gorgoroth – A World to Win Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| HAHAHAHA what kind of lyrics are these? If it's the real lyrics then the one who is writing the lyrics can't speak english. | |
| Dimmu Borgir – Unorthodox Manifesto Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This is really... interesting. Or what we could call it: "A bringer of evil I am And also a carrier of light As I use this focus through the dark And face the sunshine in the dead end " |
| Dimmu Borgir – IndoctriNation Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Yeah, a song about christianity and that their babies are born to be weak (christians), before they could actually decide what they want. | |
| Mayhem – De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas Lyrics | 18 years ago |
That's strange. "De" or "dom" can mean "they" or "them". Y in mysteriis is a letter which is used in scandinavian languages. So it could be norwegian as well. (I can speak swedish but not norwegian) |
| Dimmu Borgir – Unorthodox Manifesto Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Hey, you forgot "Hail Satan, Hail Satan" in the beginning. Then "Gentlemen.... DESTROY!". Great song. |
| Dimmu Borgir – Eradication Instincts Defined Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This song is probably about another war between devil-worshipping and christianity. You can hear in the end of the song that people are saying, "Hail Satan, Hail Satan". Maybe it means that Satan won and he is being hailed. Maybe. |

| Dimmu Borgir – Tormentor Of Christian Souls Lyrics | 18 years ago |
.... I think you both are right and wrong. So stop this kind of arguing. Christians want to get money to help the "poor" and "weak". So, I don't think they are using all money for own interests. Maybe some. But I absolutely still don't like christianity. If they help people, they give resources to weak people to live. So, they want everyone to have a great life. But if everyone had a great life, then there would be to many human beings on this planet, hate, hunger and poverty would only grow after a while. So they are wasting their time. People have to die. They should fight for their lives until the end, but it's kind of useless to help a lots of people like christians do. |
| Dimmu Borgir – The Serpentine Offering Lyrics | 18 years ago |
"And back into perfect accordance with the laws of nature " Sounds satanic. Could be LaVeyan, but maybe not. |
| Dimmu Borgir – The Sinister Awakening Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Great song! Especially the "Antikristus" part. This song sounds like it was written by LaVeyan satanists. Maybe that is the case. "I believe my truth to be A much greater thing Than a manufactured lie Too great to comprehend " Is probably about that you don't angree with christianity, and that many people don't understand "his" views. "Where I come from There's no higher authority but me Being my own god Is all I was meant to be" This is absolutely LaVeyan. Being your own God! |

| Dimmu Borgir – Tormentor Of Christian Souls Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Well, it's not aproved that Varg killed Dead. So you can't say that he killed him for sure. And, Varg isn't and were never a worhshipper. It is at least 99% sure. This is pretty interesting: http://www.burzum.org/eng/library/a_burzum_story05.shtml On the site he says that he couldn't have been a devil-worhsipper since there are no devil-worshippers. But there is at least a few people who actually worhsip the devil, so that is kind of bollox. But he says that he is not one of them, and if he would have been, then he would say it proud, because as I see it, the Second Wave of Black Metal was really daring and proud, and they would not deny their beliefs. Varg seems to be a kind of a heathen, I found many interesting things on wikipedia. |

| Dimmu Borgir – Tormentor Of Christian Souls Lyrics | 18 years ago |

I pretty much agree with you, paralyzed. Hah, since I wrote my last comment I became a Laveyan satanist. It was this song that KIND OF made me become one. Cause I wanted to do a bigger research about the different satanisms so I can write a bit more intelligent comments, and I like(d) the things I found. Interesting =) |
| Dimmu Borgir – Progenies Of The Great Apocalypse Lyrics | 18 years ago |
As far as I know Laveyan satanists don't hate (or do not hate very much) the christians. I don't know, someone correct me, but as I got it satanists don't like christianity and think it's stupid, but they don't wanna kill christians and stuff. "Should we not hunt the bastards down with our might" If I'm right, then it is more devil-worshipping kind of thing. I think that maybe Dimmu Borgir are Laveyans, but their texts are influenced by what people use to call devil-worshipping. I heard many people say that actual devil-worshippers are really anti-christs, and want to kill christians and burn their churches. Maybe it isn't entirely true? |

| Dimmu Borgir – Tormentor Of Christian Souls Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Yeah, LaVeyan is really different. But I don't that LaVeyan is good either. But I agree with some points in that satanism. By the way, someone wrote that when christians go to church is satanism-bashing. I really don't agree with that. When christians go to church, they go there to pray and keep their faith alive, and real christians don't bash others faiths, maybe don't think that other religions are good, but they don't throw dirt. Christianity existed before satanism (as far as I see, satanism is a protest against christianity + philosophy). And christians went to church before satanism was founded. But if christians they bash others religions and talk shit about them, then they are nothing better than those satanist which they think are idiots (I don't say that satanists are idiots). Yeah, there are people who say "OMG, satan took over you" but as many think, that is bollox... |
| Finntroll – Trollhammaren Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Among shadows a beast is riding Like a black tree With a mighty hammer in his grip Out to weaken christian blood THE TROLL HAMMER! THE TROLL HAMMER! The troll hammer "strikes" again! Cut down, brother again! Hear the last shot - The troll hammer is here! THE TROLL HAMMER! He is not a human Not "fragile" and weak like you You will be powerless No eyes will see your end THE TROLL HAMMER! THE TROLL HAMMER! Since the darkness took over, It dreads the cold fingers of the frost Which takes over and survives Under the coming winternight THE TROLL HAMMER! THE TROLL HAMMER! THE TROLL HAMMER! GREAT SONG! |
| Finntroll – Rivfader Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Out, far far far in the woods, there is a fire lit Out, far far far in the woods, there runs a wolf He will rip apart flesh and bones of the christian lamb Now an unpleasent manace arise from the cold of the grave mould and dust He has come again to crush heads and limbs Finally has "Rip-father" arrived Centurys may run by, human lives may fade away For when the white snake is beholded on the northern sky, then shall "Ripfather step out" from his long slumber, to strike down the northern christian plague Out, far far far in the woods, there is a fire lit Out, far far far in the woods, there runs a wolf from the flame of "fading" evil thoughts come forth |
| Dimmu Borgir – Tormentor Of Christian Souls Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I agree that there were many dumb posts, and that people misunderstand satanism mostly. I thought it was just a religion where people worshipped satan. But I did a little research (I could have done a much bigger so I can understand satanism much better) and many people confuse satanism with satan-worshipping. I think people could talk about religions here as well, for after all it's called "Tormentor of Christian souls" by a black metal band (even if its not "true black metal"). |
| Children of Bodom – Hate Me! Lyrics | 19 years ago |
OMG, what the fuck did I write back in those days? It's so clear it's not about the Bodom murders! This sounds more or less as satanic or atheistic thoughts. It sounds like he just wants christians to let him be. But... I'm really not sure if that is the meaning of the song. "I need a bishop preaching fire to get away with my sins I despise everything I see so I don't give a fuck if ya hate me" I don't see what this means. The first line SOUNDS like he rather chooses "satan" to get away with his sins instead of being depressed because of his "sins". But in the christian religion you're supposed to love even you enemies, so maybe this song isn't "against" christians or something. Otherwise it sounds like he is just depressed and drinks a lots of alcohol and he hates everyone. |

| Dimmu Borgir – Tormentor Of Christian Souls Lyrics | 19 years ago |
..... I didn't listen to this song yet, but the lyrics are sick. As far as I know, Dimmu Borgir is mostly writing these songs for image, and probaly because of their religion. I think it's a really shitty that people want to spit and throw dirt on other peoples religions as many people say. I say shame on Dimmu Borgir that they come up with an image like this. It's really unnecessary. Normal humanbeings respect other people and their opinions. At least try as much as they can. I'm something between an atheist and a christian, and I say satanism is bad, but I would NEVER say "fuckin' satanic", because they have an own opinion, which I respect, but my opinion is that satanism shall be stopped. And unholy_apparition: maybe if it was supposed to be a slap in the christians face, but don't worry, christians won't care that much about you, I hope you can sleep well now =) |
| Children of Bodom – In Your FAce Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Yeah that's a much better lyric for the song. But it still sounds like "diversify you image" to me a bit. And I listened to it many times, but it still doesn't sound like "can you hold my crazy as I go". It sounds rather "pretty" instead of "crazy". |
| Freedom Call – Holy Knight Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| No one commented? F*cking great song. But yeah, it doesn't require an explanation what the song is about. | |
| Helloween – Savage Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Well, maybe I wrote it a bit wrong, cause I'm a heavy metaller as well (leather clothes, long hair). But the "styled hair" doesn't really match for heavy metaller. But "painting all things black" and in some case "and step on your feet" match. | |
| Helloween – Savage Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Of course these guys are great! Or, maybe were great. Without Kai and KISKE they aren't the same old good Helloween. I think this song is about heavy metallers who are kind of free. But they feel theirselves free to do anything. "Painting all things black and step on your feet Flabby stomach, styled hair, trousers full of air Their morality is real ours isn't there" And other call them "Savage". Later I think it's about politics. "See them run they know no fun And look what they have done In this world full of rules We look just like fools" And: "One day they will drop the bomb Cause it's necessary to show the power One day they will give a shit on what you say" |
| Helloween – Dr. Stein Lyrics | 19 years ago |
It think you are right Matt, but it isn't only about this. I think Helloween mix some politics and other stuffs in their songs. Like "[1] great rock musicians [2] great politicians [3] a great possession [4] a great oppression" Well, it's fun too, but It maybe has a meaning. Some become possesion, others oppression! |
| Helloween – Future World Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| So freakin' great song! One of my favorites. If Kiske could come back... well, this is about the Future World, and that we have to keep together to stand strong and have a world full of love ^^ | |
| Helloween – Keeper Of The Seven Keys Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| It's a f*ckin damn great song! I think that Helloween crashed after Kiske left the band. Andi is good at singing powerful songs like Mirror Mirror. He is good in the studio but he SUCKS at live songs. I saw some of their live songs. Why couldn't Kiske come back? And Kai was a great dude as well. | |
| Judas Priest – Rocka Rolla Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Wtf? No one commented this song? This isn't a very good song, but it's still great! It's from Judas Priest's first album. It's pretty old but still catchy. The song is about a man and a woman (rocka rolla woman and man). This was the beginning of heavy metal... at least the beginning of the heavy metal evolution. | |
| HammerFall – Howlin' with the 'Pac Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| About keeping together and standing strong. Probaly about templars. But I don't understand what they mean with "No time to catch some z's" :S Great song, although not the best from the new album. | |
| HammerFall – Shadow Empire Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Super good song! Great riff, great verses, great solo and leads. I think it's probaly about a man who got rebuilt to an android - a cyborg. "I'm a half man half machine". But it sounds also if it would be about Hector "I'm the judge, the hammer falls, liberty and metal for all". But it can also be a symbol... | |
| HammerFall – Natural High Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| One of Hammerfall's best songs I think. Very melodic and very catchy. This song is about vampires, and about getting high on blood. | |
