I think that maybe this song is about a relationship between two people (sortof obvious) but he was never really ready for it. I think the line "cause I built you a home in my heart with rotten wood that decayed from the start" means that the 'foundation' (for lack of a better word) of the relationship was never strong to begin with, and it just began to break down even more. either that or it was some kind of fling. I love this song a lot... it was stuck in my head all day |
