I remember Scott saying that he would wake up in the morning and look at his wife, Mary, as she was sleeping and wonder what his life would be like without her and her life without him. I think he's admitting that he may have taken her for granted and he realizes how 'wonderful' she is and how much she did for him. I love how he says that he'll be waiting alone and yet she will be safe but not alone. Great STP song!!! |

This is from the Shangri La Dee Da album. Scott once said that he wrote this song after an argument with his wife, Mary. I remember him saying that you could love someone with all of your heart and still feel bitterness or anger or sadness towards them. |

I read on a website that this song was about Scott Weiland. I never heard or even thought about that before then. I always assumed that it was about Kurt. Anyone else heard that? |

This is such an amazing song! One of my all time fave STP songs. I've heard that it's about his ex-wife and I've also heard that it's about heroin. Not sure which one for sure, but I can see how it relates to both. For all we know, it very well could be about both. It seems like alot of STP's songs could be about a woman in his life and his drug problems, depending on how you look at it. Either way, great song!! Love how he sounds like Jim Morrison, gives me chills! |
