Wow. LOST has done wonders for this song! It's where I first heard it too. I must have had it stuck in my head for about 1 and a half months after that.
I found an old Mamas and Papas record the other day in a second hand place. I freaked out because I had totally forgotten about this song.
It's about being different and how other people look at you, but you have to keep on doing your thing no matter how hard it is. At least that's how I see it. |

Isn't it funny how more than 50% of people on this site are just plain stupid?
It's a very self explanitory song, so those who don't understand obviously don't know the lyrics or don't speak english.
And the thing about mixing punk with hippies: she doesn't actually want to do that, she just wants to have lived through the 60s and 70s when everything happened. Hence, "Revolution was in the air."
I almost cried the first time I heard this song, I connected with it so much. |

I've never heard this song backwards. I have heard other songs played backwards and they don't really sound like what people have interpreted the words as. I think that maybe people just want to hear it like that for some reason.

I said, "you're not supposed to listen to the lyrics" not, "there shouldn't be any lyrics". They don't mean what they're saying. It's just an upbeat song that's good for dancing to.
