No comments on what could be THE classic Clutch tune? Wow... I guess I think the song is about a boat full of partiers that are carrying on in decadence. A storm comes along and the ship sinks, killing everyone on board. |

| Hahaha, they should play this before every movie. Classic... | |
| Mastodon – Sleeping Giant Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| How can anyone say that Mastodon's slower songs suck? Even though they're slower paced they still retain some heaviness. I've loved all of their slower stuff on the other albums too, Naked Burn, Ole Nessie. They all add to the effectiveness of the album as a whole too. They understand dynamics, and to me having the slower paced atmospherics on an album just enhance the heavier stuff. Seriously, how much more ass does Capillarian Crest kick as a pickup after Sleeping Giant? I think this album is phenomenal. It leads the listener on so many peaks and valleys. These guys get it. | |

| I think Cedric only sings the falsetto like at the end of the song. He doesn't sing words, he just sings. Adds a great dynamic to the song too. | |

I think this is actually a song about the traveller finding a river to rest and recharge his energy and will. He got the Crystal Skull, and journeyed further up the mountain. At this point he's deciding if he wants to continue his journey. "Capillarian Gone Away"- His heart's not in the journey at the moment. He wants to go home. Then he refreshes his energy at the river, and it switches to "Capillarian Carnate", where his heart's remanifested itself and he's ready to journey again. The melodic part are his options, "you don't have to go" and "carve out your soul", or sacrifice yourself to the mountain. The last two stanzas are him deciding to brave it and continue his journey. God this is such a great song. It's my favorite on the album, and maybe favorite song period. The dynamics of the song are just ridiculous, and Brent and Troy have really improved their vocals. Great song from a terrific band. |

| The melodic part after the craziness is one of the high points of this album. I love this song with it's tempo changes, I think Mastodon are about to hit on something huge. | |

While I can't analyze everything about this song, I think it's a part of the story where the adventurer is climbing Blood Mountain, and the mountain is a volcano. "Earth has Burst, Mountain Flames", and the rest of the song is his feelings going up the side of this dangerous mountain. The Mountain is a sleeping giant (inactive volcano), that is starting to stir. It can also be a metaphor for their jump to a major label. Anyways, that's what I see, but it is a great, great song. One of my all-time faves. |

| Rammstein – Rosenrot (English) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I actually think the video makes perfect sense symbollically. Til was seduced by the girl to kill her family in the video, the girl knowing full well that he would be killed for doing so. She sent him on a suicide mission so she could get something that she wanted. Which is what happens in the song. A girl sends a boy up a mountain to get a rose, and a rock slipped and he fell to his death, just for something as trivial as a rose. In both cases the guy was just trying to please a girl. The song is about how blind some people can get when they fall in love, and it can actually lead to their demise. | |
| Corrosion Of Conformity – Stare Too Long Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Extremely underrated song. Pepper's voice gives the song instant credibility, and I love Woody's solo. It sounds as though they've channeled Skynard on this one. Great tune. | |

LOTR current date? Man, those books came out in the fifties. I get annoyed by the LOTR crew too, but jeez, relax. They aren't totally off base in some Zeppelin songs. They make direct references in songs like "Ramble On". Relax son. |

| Fear Factory – Replica Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
I think it's perfectly credible to think it's about rape. But considering the main premise of Fear Factory up to this point has been a struggle of man vs. machine, I think this song is about cloning or genetic engineering. What are the results of playing God? "Duplication Innocently"- Scientists only seeing the positives of cloning, not meaning harm to anyone doing it. "Conceived so violently"- Conceived through genetic engineering. Can't be a pretty process. The product of engineering has no love, has no family. The product isn't even his own man, he's a replica of someone else. So "I am rape, I am hate" turns into the feeling of the clone. He has been raped of his individuality, he hates himself and whoever did this to him. I've always been the kind of person who feels that whatever a person gets out of a song is right. The message of the song is different for everyone. I think Burton is a deep guy, and Fear Factory was all about the concept of man going so far technologically as to destroy himself. So while this can be taken as the quite literal rape example, I think his intention is about cloning. |

| Led Zeppelin – When the Levee Breaks Lyrics | 20 years ago |

No doubt Hangwire. Led Zeppelin is a legendary band, I believe one of the most important bands in rock history. People want every song to have double meanings, but sometimes they are just that simple. I enjoy the LOTR books, but because Led has written a song or two with references to the books some people think they always write about Tolkien. People can take whatever they want from a song, but sometimes people reach for things that just may not be there. |

| Corrosion Of Conformity – 13 Angels Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
I think you are both on the right track. The subject has fallen from his ideals. He is ashamed of himself for doing so. He wishes for death, the angels say no. He wishes for support from his beloved, the angels say no. Then he just wants people to travel or search for him, the angels say no. He ends the song contemplating his existence having no purpose, the lifetime soldier always searching for his self, but never finding what he's looking for...his own personal heaven. The Angels, being representatives of heaven keep turning him away. The fact that there are 13 Angels is significant, 13 the unlucky number for the unlucky man. Pepper is a great songwriter, I love all of his work. Beautiful song by an extraordinary band. |

| Down – Jail Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Before I heard this song I didn't know I could ever hear Phil like this. After I heard it almost ten years ago, I knew that he was a truly special vocalist. Anyone who can come and swing Walk into your face and turn around and deliver this masterpiece is a once in a generation talent. I can't wait to hear the new Down album hopefully in late 06. | |
| Mastodon – Seabeast Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| The whole Leviathan album besides the song "Joseph Merrick" revolves around Moby Dick. They decided to do a concept album about one of the heaviest books ever created. Inner turmoil, a struggle with a seemingly unbeatable giant. That literary work is heavy metal as we all know it. Heavy material for a heavy band. They pull it off wonderfully. | |

Ramthar is completely right about this song. It is about the Mississippi Delta blues style music, it is actually and song from that era. The Miss. Delta would always flood, and so the musician would move to the other two Blues capitals in America, Chicago and New Orleans. Led Zeppelin, like Black Sabbath and the other metal/hard rock bands of the time all started as blues bands. Their music was all bluesy to begin with. So they took the song and covered it. It is a blues tune. Robert Plant makes anything sound like sex, so I can see where people are coming from, but it is a blues song. |
