I love this song. I think it is so cleverly written and has such an upbeat feel to it :] A few weeks back, I could totally relate to this song, it was like it was written for me (not intending to sound big headed or whatever in anyway). But, I mean I was with a boy and I hardly saw him. At all. And i cried so many times and it just wasn't what I wanted. It wasn't where I thought I would be. And then one of my good friends always used to talk to me about it and always said whenever I needed help, to just come to him. My favourite film in the world is Dirty Dancing, so I love this song because it is from this film. And it fit sperfectly with the ending. But it has a new meanging to me now. I had my Prom the other night and it was the last song. And everyone sang it really loudly and it just summed up my time at my senior school. I did have the time of my life. Cheesy, I know. But looking back...I did. So now when I listen to this song it makes me cry because thanks to all my amazing friends at that school, I had an awesome time there. I know this song is about two people falling in love and that's what it meant to me but now it is about having the best time of your life because of certain people. I am in love with this song also. Although, I heard it way before I saw the O.C episode. But it fits in so perfectly. The end of "The Countdown" + this song make me cry. It's a perfect song. I guess he is saying that nothing else compares to him, when his girlfirend/wife says she loves him. Nothing else matters at that moment in time. When it says "...roll the dice and swear your loves for me". He is implying that you should just take a chance in life. Dice=chance. And you only get one chance to say you love someone, before the moments past you. He has mixed emotions of his girlfriend, or whatever she is to him. And that's why people can relate because no matter how much the person we love hurts us and makes us cry, when they say that they love us, it just washes it all away. Yep. Definitely one of my favourite songs. Ever. xx |

This song makes me smile everytime I hear it. I guess this song could be about, how much he loves her. And the words he knows are not enough to express it for her. "Sorrow drips into your heart through a pinhole just like a faucet that leaks and there is comfort in the sound but while you debate half empty or half full it slowly rises your love is gonna drown" I do not know why, but these repeated lines in the song move me completely. I guess he is saying that if the person he is singing about doesn't hurry up and decide if she loves him or not, her love will drown. And she won't be able to feel love. It says while you debate half empty or half full, this could signify that she is thinking whether the love would be good or bad? Well, I think so anyway. This song is amazing. Beautiful. xx |

This is possibly one of the most beautiful songs I have in a long time. Even though it is about death, it brings a sort of enlightment to the whole issue. I agree with many of you when you say it is about an everlasting love. And eithr growing old together or if she suddenly died...he would kill himself, just to be with her. So she wouldn't be alone. Just the guitar at the beginning gives me goosebumps and this song does make me think. How everyone will meet again after life. "If heaven and hell decide, that they both are satisfied and illuminate the no's on their vancany signs. If there's no-one beside you, when your soul embarks, then I'll follow you into the dark." I noticed a lot of people quote those lines, possibly because they are the most moving words of the whole song. Even if the two certain places after death are full, he will be with her in the dark, no matter where or what the dark is. Just to be with her would make him happy. It is such a clever, moving song.
