I actually think that this song is a lot more innocent than most people are saying. To me, it conjures the story of a man abandoned by the mother of his child, struggling to support his daughter and himself. He finds out about a a singing contest of sorts, and convinces his daughter to enter-- originally so that they can get extra income, but after they both see how artificial it all is, he tells her that she has to go out there and prove that she sings because of a love for music, not for fame or fortune. I've always thought that the lines
"Want to hold a mirror up to the world
So that they can see themselves inside my little girl"
are just talking about how this one poor little girl is going to show the audience and the judges and the other contestants how superficial they are.
And the parts talking about "Do you know where I was at your age?" is just him saying she needs to use her talent to have a better life than he did. |

| The Beatles – The Ballad of John and Yoko Lyrics

Look people, SHUT UP about Yoko Ono already. She loved/loves John Lennon, all right? And she did not single-handedly break up The Beatles. I did a paper about this very subject for eigth grade English. They broke up because none of them were happy with Just being The Beatles anymore.
This song is about their honeymoon, where they told the press that they would get to see "John and Yoko in bed." Naturally, they assumed they'd be having succes, but instead they sat up in bed-in their pajamas- and talked about political and social issues. |

The weird thing is, even though the lyrics are "You humble me lord" I never once connected this to god. I still don't. I still think the person who humbles her is the father of her baby. |

Is itjust me, or does the phrase repeated by a female voice over and over at the end sound a lot like "I shot Jack"? |

| Fefe Dobson – 8 X 10 Lyrics

I always thought this was a song about divorce. Like, they're married, and they love each other, but they just can't make it work. The "8X10" that he needed to sign always seemed like divorce papers (regardless that white paper is 8 1/2 X 11, 8 X 10 sounds way better).
"Now all I wanna do is show ya, yeah
How to turn the darkness into light"
It sounds like what she wants to do is help him not hurt, even though she is too because they both still love each other. |

I think this song is about a girl who doesn't like herself, and the boy who loves her. She doesn't see how he can love her and pretends to reject his love, but actually wants it. |

I think this song is about the relationship between a mother and a young son. Maybe a mother who hasn't really always been there, but is beginnning to make up for it. |

Woot! First comment! Okay. Anyways. I really love this song. It's the only one I can really remember from when I saw them in concert and fell in love. (Also met half the band, but that's not the point.)
This song sounds to me like a guy talking to an ex-girlfriend who he still loves. They broke up because she didn't think he was good enough for her. He's saying one day he'll be perfect and therefore good enough to win her back. |

| My Chemical Romance – All I Want For Christmas Is You Lyrics

Thie first time I heard this song, I giggled throughout the whole thing. After hearing a second time, I came to really love it. Maybe it's the fact that this is a cheesy lovey-dovey Christmas song. Maybe it's the fact that the whole thing sounds like a parody that is song with all the origional lyrics. Maybe it's the distorted guitars and vocal effects they've added to make it their own. Whatever it is, I love every second of it. |

This song is so haunting and soulfull. It nearly had me in tears. It is for sure about suicide. I knew that from the beginning. |

Correction: instead of "It reaches in and rips your flesh apart" it's "It reaches in and tears your flesh apart."
It's probably really silly, but I'm kind of anal about stuff like that....
And yeah, this song is about 9/11. Gerard Way said it himself. |
