In my view its not really talking about how hip hop came about just about what it (and especially KRS-one) taught him about life and culture. I havnt herd the baba o'riley cover but the who r one of the greatest bads eva, and townshend is a legend, a great lyricist, performer, and guitarist. this is a good song, but i do think it is overated. They have done much better. The lyrics however are truly great. This song is very sad but it teaches a lesson that this shudnt still be happening.
