| 10 Years – All Your Lies (Division version) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| "['All Your Lies'] was written about...well no one in mind specifically, but someone who has no remorse and doesn't care about anything but themselves. ... It's about a deceitful bitch." - Jesse Hayek | |
| 10 Years – Picture Perfect (In Your Eyes) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| "The content of 'Picture Perfect' is pretty much about this whole ridiculous world we've been thrown into. Everyone thinks you have it made. That phrase 'the grass is always greener on the other side.' It was such a hard process to make this record and that's one of the things that was on my mind. I didn't want people thinking everything was handed to us when we have been working our asses off to make this album. That's what the media wants you to believe. That it's black and white. You're either picture perfect, or you're a total train wreck." - Jesse Hayek | |

| 10 Years – Drug Of Choice Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Hahaha. "How much we play" should be "how much we pay". "Disasterpation" should be "disasterbation", a play on "masturbation". "Fire over fuel" is "fight over fuel", "violence is cool" is "violence in school", and "you's" isn't even a word. It's "The youth are as confused as I am". "Never life" should be "live a life". |

"The battle you picked was so one-sided. Now to pin it on me, the one you invited. For redemption, for forgiveness; Sorry, I’m not listening." |

| Evans Blue – Caught a Lite Sneeze (Tori Amos cover) Lyrics | 18 years ago |

I thought it was "I need a big load from a calzone". Which is slightly more awesome. |

| Sick Puppies – The Bottom Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I agree with this being about the afterlife, but it seems to be told from the perspective of a zombie, for me. The lines about "eating them" and this being a "wicked way to die" gave me the idea, and the whole song seems to reflect it. The concept is so original in songwriting that it stands as one of my favorite songs of all time. | |
| Tool – 10,000 Days (Wings Pt. 2) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
This song is so amazing. Very few songs give me chills every time I listen to them, and 10,000 Days is one of the few. After listening to previous Tool songs, and really hearing and taking in the lyrics, 10,000 Days is such a change, such a breath of fresh air. Tool is well-known for lyrical assaults on organized religion, at the occassional expense of Maynard's mother's dedication to her beliefs (see A Perfect Circle's "Judith" for a perfect example). The regret in the words of Wings Pt. 2, and the acceptance of her lifestyle, is nothing short of breathtaking. Easily my favorite song from their latest album. |

These are the most insanely incorrect lyrics ever. I'm compelled to fix them. |

| Incubus – Point #1 Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Kill yourself. | |
| A Perfect Circle – Pet Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I can't believe how many people buy into this "addiction" theory, seeing as how half of the lyrics require a huge stretch of imagination to mean anything about drugs and addiction. As for the idiots that think this somehow involves Maynard's son, kill yourselves. This song is obviously about the state of the world, from the perspective of the President (or a general government body). He's speaking to his "son" (a metaphor for the public, the children of his nation) about the dangers of the world, and how the public should stay blind and ignorant, and place their faith completely in him. For anyone who somehow can't acknowledge this meaning, please note the lyric: "Count the bodies like sheep to the rhythm of the war drums" And read carefully, as you may miss the fucking word WAR. |

| Incubus – Quicksand Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I love the chorus of this song, but is it supposed to have weird, live-like quality? I pirated the album from a torrent (but I'm going to buy it opening day, so don't piss yourself), and this is the only song on the album that has this sound. I'm assuming it's intentional, because "A Kiss To Send Us Off" starts with the same sound. Shame, though. I'd love to hear a studio recording. | |
| Revelation Theory – Selfish And Cold Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
@iheartpsychostick: Actually, these lyrics are correct; There are two alternate versions of this song. I have the version with the alternate lyrics as well, though I don't know which is the album version. In my opinion, these lyrics are smarter anyway. |

| Weird Al Yankovic – Albuquerque Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
"Whoaaa! Hold on now, baby! I'm just not ready for that kind of commitment!" They get married, have children, and then put an end to it because Al doesn't want to join the Columbia Record Club. Priceless. |

| Nonpoint – Hands Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I can relate so much to this song. To me, it's about a relationship. The speaker wanted this relationship to continue forever ("In the beginning, felt like you'd always be there"), and expected a lot out of it. The person being spoken to made a mistake that caused the end of this relationship, and in doing so, lost the affection for the speaker. This is the speaker's lonely plea. The chorus is the speaker's way of showing the other person's ignorance to his feelings and pain ("I don't know how to say to make you understand"). The second lyric shows that the speaker wants to see the other person's open arms, waiting to accept them. Of course, this is just how I interpreted this song after a breakup very similar to the one described. Nonpoint could've intended a different meaning entirely. ;P |

| Nural – How Do You Sleep at Night Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Yeah, Nural themselves said it was about abortions... Even so, it's a beautiful song. The whimsical way the lyrics: "Waiting for the tide to rise and wash them away Deep into a watery grave" Are performed is amazing. |

| 10 Years – Pacemaker Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Thanks, Entity. I managed to find it last night and I've been listening to it since... It's beautiful, I can't believe they left it off the album. The meaning, however, still alludes me. The lines: "Cataclysmic chaos must occur for his return then... Please wish it now - all on yourself so that - we may - enjoy - Christ in you." Are very confusing. I can't tell if Jesse was being sarcastic, or trying to make the point that spiritual revelation only comes from turmoil. Regardless, an amazing track. Any 10 Years fan deserves to hear this. |

| Nonpoint – Mountains Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I'd say this amazing song is about someone (whom the speaker was in a relationship with) that turns all these little problems and inconveniences into giant situations with their pessimism. I know enough people like that, including the last girl I was in a relationship with. I can definitely relate; Yet another "Development" highlight. And Elias's aggression in the second "want to kill" is completely engaging. |

| Where did this come from? Is this an unreleased track or a demo from the "Into The Half Moon" days? | |
| 10 Years – Through The Iris Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
For God's sake... This song is NOT about religion. Tying religion to such a deep and open track is just shallow. As most of the songs on The Autumn Effect are, this song is about a relationship. "'Through The Iris' is another, um, I don't want to call it a 'love song' but it writes about the experiences of relationships, and that's when there's sort of different stages: 'Waking Up' is the most optimistic, and then 'Fault Line' is sort of toward the bottom. 'The Recipe' is the worst. Right below 'Waking Up' would be 'Through The Iris.' 'Through The Iris' is one of those things that it's [like] you build up this wall to not let people in, because in order to love someone you have to become vulnerable to that person, and let them into your world. And to do so, you're making yourself vulnerable to be hurt, but at the same time you could gain from it. So it's teetering right on the line. It says, 'This weakening wall will one day fall / It's wise to sever our loss.' And then, 'Love's not all lost / But it's nailed to my cross / And crucified all that I've held on to.' But it's someone who's been beaten up and battered from it a little bit, but they still want to have faith in it and believe in it. But they're still a little apprehensive. They're not quite back to where they could do it." - Jesse Hasek. I can personally relate to this song and Jesse's explanation of it. After coming from a rough breakup, I find myself hesitant to open up to those who want a place in my heart. Yet I still want to believe in love. Needless to say, amazing song. My favorite 10 Years track. |
