| Rihanna – Te Amo Lyrics | 16 years ago |

This is a cover, correct? Either way- I see this as Rihanna's way of addressing herself, a dual perspective of being in love, and knowing better, and ultimately having to let go. |

| Animal Collective – No More Runnin Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
About the profound emotions you experience that cannot be replicated or replaced. "Your kisses are too fine." About trying to escape the vulnerability, only to realize that it will follow you. "You are candy in my teeth." |

| Animal Collective – Lion in a Coma Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| "Lion in a coma" is also a play on words of "lying in a coma" | |
| The Helio Sequence – Hallelujah Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
To me, this song is about the division between those who are religious and those who are opposed to religion. In such a scientific age, it has become more and more apparent, especially politically, that people are starting to reject the idea of spirituality. "We all want answers, anyway" might be a way of saying "we all want some way to justify the things we can't explain." |

| Tegan and Sara – I Can't Take It Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
For me, I believe this song is about the tension of an ending relationship. You used to turn to the person who you were with, but now it doesn't feel the same, and everything is so strained. I feel like she's trying to say that she can't keep doing this any longer, and that the person who is distant needs to make a decision. But then she reverts back by saying she can wait, possibly because she already knows the outcome will be the end of their relationship. |

| The Shins – Pam Berry Lyrics | 17 years ago |

I didn't enjoy the sound of this song after first hearing it. After looking up the lyrics, however, I think I like it a lot more. I think it's an amusing song. :] |

It sounds like she has an accent. Where is she from? Cute song.I laugh when she says "You're my favorite living human, by far." Who died? |

| The Shins – Sea Legs Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Personally, I applaud The Shins for their experimentation and I find Wincing The Night Away to be their best album. Nothing irks me more than when people give the album a quick once over and only pay attention to the catchy songs such as Phantom Limb or New Slang. Give this song time and keep and open mind. |

| Maria Taylor – Irish Goodbye Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Oh, and I forgot to mention in my previous post that my theory for the rap related lines is that she heard rap music while at the club, and that is what she was thinking while listening to the music and watching other people. | |
| Maria Taylor – Irish Goodbye Lyrics | 18 years ago |

This is my favorite song on the new album. I think it's a description of a night life scene, like at a night club. (This is going to be really long btw, lol.) "Nonstop talk It’s eleven o’clock There’s a line coming out the door I’m not feeling it But I swore I’d go" This reminds me of a long line of people waiting to get into a club, and how this normally isn't her type of scene, but she promised she would go. "Thrift shop Rock a little light on a cock All the kids screaming out for more I’m not getting it I’d swear I’ve been here before" These are the most confusing lines to me. I debate about whether she means these things in a literal way, and is referring to sexual behavior, or if it's some kind of metaphor. I don't understand the first two lines, but the ones to follow sound like the way younger adults act, how they typically go to clubs to pick up people and have sex with them. The line "I'm not getting it" could either refer to her lack of understanding of the situation, or a literal way of saying she isn't getting laid, lol. I don't think that's the case though, it's just a possibility. *shrugs* "How can you rap For all that sunset? The sequence still isn’t done And I’d like to know You get me" The lines that have to do with rap I see as a commentary on the genre of music. The line "how can you rap for all that sunset?" seems like a way of saying "how can you rap for all that hardship?" which can refer to the way rappers take a life of crime and little opportunity and glamorize it with their music. I don’t understand the lines that follow. “Third full sip (?) Off the straight line tip Just one now, but I want more Another, promise me Thrown out the door” These lines describe her desire for alcohol, and how she keeps drinking, and eventually she is thrown out of the club. “Through a bloodshot haze Watch the day get paid Find a friend, ask him take me home And could you stay awhile? Now I can’t be alone” She is having trouble seeing; a side effect of being drunk. She finds a friend to drive her home, and she doesn’t want to be by herself, so she asks him/her for some company. And that's all I've got so far. |

| Bright Eyes – Four Winds Lyrics | 19 years ago |

I really think Conor has grown quite a bit as a musician. You could definitely see the similarities in some of the songs on the Four Winds Ep when compared to the Digital Ash album. I am excited about his new album; I think it'll be a great one. I still haven't completely figured out the message of this song, but I think it has something to do with a loss of faith. |

| Cursive – Bad Sects Lyrics | 19 years ago |

I really love how he looks at a situation in all perspectives possible. He doesn't just criticize, he examines. This song is a great example of that. |

| Acceptance – In The Cold Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
My favorite "songs"? How ironic I'm being criticized by someone who can't even speak English correctly. Think you have enough question marks? *rolls eyes* I didn't explain my quote, Donielle, because it's pretty self explanatory. It's describing a specific event that took place and expressing the emotions during that moment. I'll keep your suggestion in mind, but next time you might want to be a little more polite to those who don't know better. Especially since it seems you have some troubles yourself (such as spelling and punctuation.) practice what you preach |

| Bright Eyes – A Scale, a Mirror, and Those Indifferent Clocks Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
Unanswered questions about life and it's meaning I love how he uses symbolisim " Here is a scale. Weigh it out and you will find, easily, more than sufficient doubt that these colorsyou see were picked in advance by some careful hand with an absolute concept of beauty." so poetic and so true |

| Neva Dinova – Yellow Datsun Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| At first I didn't really like this song because it sounded kind of like counrty which I'm not too fond of, but I love how he makes dying seem so carefree almost like he's saying "Oh well life sucked anyway" I love his voice as well. Heart break is also a theme in this song | |
| Neva Dinova – Ahh Lyrics | 20 years ago |

"I've been trying to capture The piece of art you're after It seems like it's extinct I'll check it when I hit the peak" my favorite verse |

| Bright Eyes – When the Curious Girl Realizes She Is Under Glass Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
Based on the second verse I'm pretty sure he's talking about a girl he's "involved with". He's saying how she'll read what he wrote and she's all the way in florida. I think he misses her ". . . Time take us forward. Relief from this longing, they can land that plane on my heart I don’t care" this song is a bit confusing, so I could be wrong. *shrugs* |

| This song is so beautiful, the way he signs it is so soft and it goes well with the lyrics. The last verse is my favorite. | |
| Bright Eyes – Napoleon's Hat Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
This whole song is eye opening, for the hurricain and also regular life. "It’s like wading through a wasteland where a town you loved once stood. You just cry each time you think of when times were good." "And strive for understanding over being understood" Money well spent is all I can say. |

| Bright Eyes – A Perfect Sonnet Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| This song is amazing, he puts so much emotion in when he signs. It's hard not to relate to this song. | |
| Acceptance – In The Cold Lyrics | 20 years ago |

This is one of my favorite Acceptance songs "I remember the train you came in on Everything I want kept calling I remember the chill that came over Everything I love went falling" awesome |
