Opeth – Blackwater Park Lyrics 18 years ago
not true, there are elements of keyboard on some songs, alot of people classify them as black metal because of the atmosphere they create..... they dont need a keyboard to create this atmosphere, guitar bass and drums......

Opeth – The Night and the Silent Water Lyrics 18 years ago
Not necessarily, It could be the "death" of a relationship that meant alot to the narrator, when i hear it, it reminds me of how your memory fades, and peoples images change, sadness overtakes and you start asking why.. or what if.
There are 2 sides to this song though, the lyrics, and the guitars. most of this song the guitars are in harmony.... and ill tell u now, when u play along with em on the guitar, or even just listen carefully, there is as much if not more emotion in the guitar than the lyrics themselves, i believe its the lyrics that help to define a "verbal" landscape of what the song as a whole is tryin to achieve

Opeth – Benighted Lyrics 18 years ago
I also believe that "melinda" is not necessarily what u think, I heard a qoute one day that mikael apparently said. "If music were a woman id be desperate to fuck her" well i feel the same, and when i hear this its like......its like it knows what i see inside, to challenge my faith as kragen said, but not necessarily for a person..... For the love of the sound of music, for the fear that u cannot create that sound, for the fear of failure???? am i makin sense or did i screw it up?

Dimmu Borgir – Progenies Of The Great Apocalypse Lyrics 18 years ago
ok, lyrics, just like the bible, can be interpreted so many ways its beyond a joke, but to me, Dimmu Borgir are in a sense, creating a cult...... All of these bands are, read emperors lyrics...... or older dimmu, "oh father teach me to comprehend i commit myself to understand" Its almost like shagrath is tryin to teach through music.... to show us what he see's, and leave it up to us to be worthy of understanding, there is alot of intelligence in the lyrics of any of their songs, but there was someone else who was right, and Puritanical Euphoric misanthropia had it in spades. that album didnt need lyrics, the guitar and drums said everything that album couldve, pure emotion......... if u ever played guitar etc... u know what i mean, it hits u in the core and wont let u sleep, takes u to another world....
