I really don't believe that this song targets Islam in particular. I think that the message to be taken from this truly great song is that mankind has no right to manipulate religion. I don't think any one religion is guilty here but possibly all orginized religions have had their vices. I am Catholic and I so I will be the first to point out the references to the crusades. littered about also are references to Islam and cults, as thunderbolt, YtseJam and enchiridion all point out. It criticizes those who "Blur the lines between virtue and sin", or those who twist religion for their own personal gain. This song is not an attack on God, but rather an attack on those who start wars, claiming to be carrying out His will (twisting faith into voilence in the name of God) |

dead on addred. this song seems to mirrir "in the name of God". both warn of the death that follows when mankind tries to manipulate religion. (teach them what to think and feel...) This song chooses to target Islam true, but ITNOG seems to be taken from the crusades and holy wars that have plagued the middle east for... well... basically ever. Both make references to phalse prophets of one sort or another, and I think these songs essentially boil down to DT's belief that wars should not be waged by man in the name of religion. |

I have to agree with Buck on this one... it is a mother who lost a child at birth. she asks "are you lonly without mommy's love" and states that "I'm so lonly without baby's love". The mother dies not die, the child does and needless to say, this upsets her. |

If you turn up your volume enough at the end of this song, you might notice that it ends with the same note and noises that "The Root of All Evil" starts with. Guess this story does indeed "end where it begins"... |
