Living Sacrifice – Symbiotic Lyrics 20 years ago
I think that this song is using a baby in the womb as a metaphor for what it's like to love another person with all of your heart and be married to them. The conceived in fire = Your love for your spouse was conceived with passion. The union (marriage) destroys the pain of loneliness.

I think this song has some deeper spiritual meaning as well but I can't quite figure it out.

Living Sacrifice – Imminent War Lyrics 20 years ago
The song is about how many middle east nations hate Israel. It's about the whole tension that smothers the middle east. They are saying Israel has a right to exist and that everyone should get over it and leave them alone.

Living Sacrifice – 3x3 We Carried Your Body Lyrics 20 years ago
Yeah. Someone kills themselves and they carry the body out 3x3 to bury it. No one seems to learn how to have peace in their lives and more people kill themselves afterwards. It's really a sad, sad song. There's no resolution at the end or anything.

Lamb of God – Hourglass Lyrics 20 years ago
Ilikemetal: You are truely a moron. At least you are overt about it so we all know to just ignore you. Christian are no less close minded than anyone else and, for the most part, certainly less close minded than you.

As for this songs meaning: I think it probably was meant to be about Iraq. The whole album seems to be abou it in one way or another... I think most of the songs have a bit of double meaning though. I'm not sure if this one does.

On a sort of related note: I don't think too much of LOG's music is meant to convey a positive spiritual message. Here is a good metric for those of you thinking it might convey a Christian message. In any band's music if the songs contain one of these words then chances are the band is not made up of Christians: fuck, shit, cunt, goddamn. Now go back and read LOG's lyrics... Oh, some of those words appear in the lyrics... Now, research their old band name... Burn the Priest. How nice! Well, they sound like a Christian band to me!

That having been said, any band be it LOG or Marilyn Manson CAN in one or two songs convey a message that is approximately Christian. Most people aren't going to totally be against everything Christians stand for. Case in point the song Head Like a Hole by NiN. They aren't exactly a Christian band but the song just as well could be. Maybe the same thing w/ Omerta by LOG. Maybe Creeping Death by Metallica could be in that list too.

Dream Theater – Sacrificed Sons Lyrics 20 years ago
I don't think that this song is necessarily about religion in general as some have suggested. I believe it is more specifically about the religion of the hijackers: Islam. The terrorists have distorted their religion to become a religion of hate and intolerance. The song is about how the terrorists believe that they are doing God's good work by hurting innocent people.

Basically I think DT is saying: Who would want to worship Allah (God) if he wants you to terrorize innocents and hate other people? In that respect it does have some relevence to beliefs held by some Christians as well. The song relates to religion in general in the respect that anyone can distort the message of their religion and misrepresent it. Christans do it, muslims do it, etc.
