Muse – Twin Lyrics 19 years ago
and more about raisa and liz, cause i guess i've left you all in the dark in that aspect. they're the twins in question, although they're not blood-related, they're connected by one common factor, their love of muse. not really a love, more like, i dunno, a necessity, like muse is as important, if not more, than the air they breathe. they're being kept apart by muse though, they hardy ever see each other, and when they do, they're in the direct presence of muse, because when they are together it's a very powerful thing, so they're kept apart unless around muse, because muse obviously "controlling again" controls them, and keeps their weird powers at bay. xx

these lyrics are wrong wrong WRONG. wrong. wrong. wrong. wrong.

"controlling again unseparated twins"!!!!

i mean, how does "i'm separated too, you'd rather be" make sense?? the shrinking universe lyrics were wrong too.

"unseparated twins you'd rather be"

this song is about raisa and liz, obviously.

Muse – Shrinking Universe Lyrics 19 years ago
this song is about, obviously the physics theory, but also, i think, religion. like, mainstream sort. because, why else would the word God be in there? i guess matt bellamy might have had some other weird reason to put that in there, maybe to add to the way the song flowed, but still. maybe it's like, "you know, you can be as religious as you like, but when the universe starts closing is [that is if there's enough matter...] you're all screwed and there's nothing your GOD can do for you." all we can do is find a way to jump into that other universe. read Hyperspace, it's good.xx

Muse – Pink Ego Box Lyrics 19 years ago
this song is about a very complicated subject. online relations are very hard to keep up, because you don't see the person on a regular basis, so you've got to be online all the time (and i understand the lyric about the eyes straining! i actually understand this whole thing perfectly...) and it's a very trying thing to feel something very strong towards someone you've never seen or do not see on a regular basis. it is hard to keep up a friendship or a relationship this way, and i admire anyone who can do it. i also like the bit about the 50 bytes per second. that's like, "damn, my internet is so damned slow, i can't talk to this person like i want to" and if the bit about the dutch girl is true, then it's even harder, international relations are quite annoyingly hard to keep up, especially through time zones. also, the "i can tell you're gonna be just like me" is a very interesting point, because i met a very very good friend of mine on the internet, whose screen name actually had something to do with this song, and we're almost exactly the same, our Origin of Symmetry CDs were even stolen on the same day, and we live hundreds of miles away from each other! same thoughts sometimes too, it's a bit eerie the whole thing, cause it's like the song almost fits our friendship perfectly. don't underestimate the power of pink ego box, admire bells. give me all the peace and joy in your mind xx

Muse – Apocalypse Please Lyrics 19 years ago
erm. how about the line "this is the end of the world"?? i'm really surprised no-one brought that up, because i think that's the most straight-out thing muse has ever said to us (apart from maybe "give me all the peace and joy in your mind", that's pretty straight-out aswell). but honestly, why do you all try to find weird things to this, muse has been getting less and less secretive about their lyrics. all the new songs are weirdly striaght-out too, i think muse is getting tired of being all cryptic with their messages, which is funny because last i checked they were thinking of naming their next album Cryptography. hah, a bit ironic the whole thing is. anyway, the whole album is a story. it's like, starts out with "oi, the world is ending" and then towards the middle it's like "wow, i'm really gonna miss some of you worthy people, the rest of you can fuck off.." and at the end it's like "oh damn, no more Earth..." think about it. xx

Muse – Bliss Lyrics 19 years ago
well, first I'd like to say that bliss is undeniably the best song ever written and recorded. ever. here's the synopsis of bliss one would get straight from the muse book
(good bit of reading, i recommend it if you haven't already read it) it reads: "The seemingly summery lyrics belied a kind of world-weary bitterness from a protagonist who has seen too much yet strives for the unobtainable purity of innocence." well, there you have it, the published version of the meaning of bliss. xx
