The Low Anthem – Charlie Darwin Lyrics | 6 years ago |
@[highjinx:22331] hello! I am not Buck Fastard. I'm just Buck. I'm a different Buck than the original commenter. My name is Buck. His name is Buck Fastard. If you send something to @[Buck:22332], it comes to me, not to Buck Fastard. And my second comment was for the other person tagged, not for you. You can disregard it :3 I was only talking to you about tagging me when you wanted to tag the original poster. Incidentally, I'm not sure how you should tag the original poster, since he has a space in his name and the @ tag can't work with spaces. |

Furthermore, quantifying the US as "the best country to have ever existed" is going to prove difficult, even with - if not especially with - capitalism as a quantifier. Also, it has nothing to do with the song. It won't change the song's meaning to inject your own personal economic and political philosophies into the comments. |

@[Charles108:9891] I think I rather like that interpretation better :3 |
Patty Griffin – Big Daddy Lyrics | 13 years ago |
Perhaps this is a long shot, but I was trying to put together a visual for this in my head while listening, and... do you think this song could be about pedophilia? :o It's got these really bright lyrics, but the music is kind of dark, and that's the interpretation I got from the combination of the two. |
Blur – Trimm Trabb Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I've read all the other comments, and here's my succinct interpretation. I think this song reeks of regret. Sounds like he gave up something he loved to be part of something he thought he wanted. No turning back now. |
Enon – Come Into Lyrics | 14 years ago |
"Love begins" is incorrect. Anyone know what it actually is? |
The Pillows – Hybrid Rainbow (English translation) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I would ask that you gave your meaning, too :D I think it's a song about hope. It seems that there is a great deal of hopelessness in the situations illustrated (wonderfully) in the verses, but the chorus hopes for tomorrow, even thougyh yesterday was a bust. This translation isn't all that great. I think you loose the meaning in the chorus here because of the "up till." Take that out, and it's more clear. |
Gorillaz – All Alone Lyrics | 18 years ago |
well, the new lyrics certainly help, no? I'd like to reevaluate Spankthru's interpretation of Noodle's part, while keeping in the context of his thought. I think it's saying you see what you could be, where you could be, in your dreams, and you want to make it last... but when the morning comes, there's only the war to which to wake up. You wake up to the same duties, and the future seems no brighter than it did before you went to sleep. maybe? :D |

I dunno. I can't play it loud because of all the bass. I always thought the chipmunk thing was the girl. But yeah, maybe it's not supposed to make perfect sense. |
Gorillaz – O Green World Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I rather like your interpretation, but when I first read this, the impression I got was this. O green world, Don't desert me now Bring me back to fallen town Where someone is still alive Fighting for something new in this When no one needs the heart of me and I'll Get out somewhere other than me before... Again, it was reminescent of a war theme. It sounds a lot like what I think of other songs, about a soldier or something. I thought maybe he was looking for life in the rubble. I felt like he felt like a soulless pawn in a bigger game, fighting for something he didn't believe in. And at the end, he turned to drugs to rid himself of his angst. In the middle, he felt insignificant against such a big world. Whatever... I like yours. It works better, I think. |
Gorillaz – DARE Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I always thought it was "It's coming out," and at one point he was talking a baby coming out and being dead.. "it's dare" sounded like "it's dead" to me. anyway, it sounds to me that someone's trying to convince someone else to loosen up and party :D there's a lot of things it seems to mean to me, but that's the most prominent right now. Fits in with the title, to me ^^ now, to ellie... I think it's because it sounds like catwalk/runway/porno music. it only seems fitting to be naked when you listen to it XD |
Gorillaz – All Alone Lyrics | 19 years ago |
maybe... sex while on a high? but I don't understand the All Alone chorus. Drugs stuff, I recon'. |
Gorillaz – Every Planet We Reach Is Dead Lyrics | 19 years ago |
the way I always percieved the song, I made it tie into what I got from the rest of the CD. It always felt like this CD was about a war and the people caught up in it, specifically the one America is in right now. That said, I lean toward the long distance relationship theory, between a soldier and his loved one. But that's just me. |
Dir En Grey – Zan (English) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I think this song is about someone who was bullied all their life and goes completely pshyco... always saw this as the taunt before he kills his victims... the insane laughter... Death Trap... there's some things missing from the lyrics, spoken word parts... kimi ga inai, boku ga inai.. and stuff.. I think it goes like this in the middle you are not here... you are laughing... you are not here... i am not here... and this at the end you are not here... i am not here... you... are not... here... i am... not... here... I... am... coming... and I hear from an interview, Dir en grey hates being labelled as goth >.> |
Red Hot Chili Peppers – Midnight Lyrics | 19 years ago |
If I can add my two cents, I think this song is about throwing caution to the wind, despite it all. It seems to all make sense in that respect. Like the fear that's in the eyes of every doe Say it now cause John and Jane would like to know Is it safe inside your head Songs to serenade the dead There is a certain fear associated with that; people feel safer when they do what's expected, right? So when you throw all caution to the dogs, it's a scary thing. I think this part's just about an unsure feeling with doing it, followed up with reassurance; All along, I've said I know no enemies Meaning, maybe, he has nothing to worry about anyway. Anyway, that's what I think. tokorode... I looked up "nine," because that part confused me... you think it may have something to do with the nine muses of Greek Mythology? |
The Pillows – Subhuman Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Wow, thanks for clearing that up! I couldn't make any rhyme or reason out of this before! This song reminds me of REM... you know... the band... |
The Pillows – One Life Lyrics | 19 years ago |
When I first heard this song, or rather, when I first heard it with the lyrics at hand, I thought immediately of my late girlfriend Chau... this song is so beautiful, and I love it. It means a lot to me. |
Dir En Grey – 24ko Cylinder (English) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I was about to ask the same thing when I came upon it! I dunno... I can't think of a lot that have the exact same subjects, though the subjects I find are extremely powerful... love and time. In fact, not a single other song on this album have this same subject... So basically, it's about time and a love lost. While he does talk about these things a lot, it's never in the same way, in my opinion. I agree, though. This used to be my absolute favorite song when I first got this CD, my first CD by Dir en grey! |
Dir En Grey – Zomboid (English) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
heh heh! I used to hate this! it's about a pervert who turns gay. simple as that ^_^ |
Dir En Grey – The Domestic Fucker Family (English) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
When I first got into Dir en grey and bought kisou, I tried to find a story or meaning behind every song... there is, of course, but the one I came up with for this one was that it was just a rage against conformists. They do a few songs about tyranical governments, too, I think. This one (maybe), MASK, and The III D EMPIRE... specifically... |
Dir En Grey – Kigan (English) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
The thing that always came to mind was that this song was about the birth of a demon into the world. the second stanza kinda reminds me of The Ring, though I'm sure that's just coincidence ^_^ Rereading the lyrics, you might wonder if Kyo is referring to himself in any reguard. After all, he got his name from Kyoto, right? Or am I wrong? |
Incubus – Segue 1 Lyrics | 19 years ago |
well, obviously this is just a crazy track with a bunch of recorded stuff they thought was funny or cool and whatnot... like something I used to do with music when I was 12. It's fun to listen to, though... always thought they said "show your dick!" and "fuck!" It's funny... but it's just for fun. |
