| Lol this song rocks, my only complaint is its gone so mainstream people just say they love it because its one of the few greenday songs they play on the radio, besides american idiot and wake me up when september ends. lol In fact i went to the green day american idiot tour 2005 2 days ago and he said "This next song's a big FUCK YOU to george w bush, this next one's called holiday!!" ^^ i agree bush isnt clearly bright and has poor motives and is somewhat... completely a bad president. Ok my interpretation: There is a kid, for some reason called the jesus of suburbia, who is all fed up with being an "american idiot" from the first song. In this one, it describes him, and how he hates the way of life and all that, and eventually runs away. Then comes holiday, where he is out on the streets trying to make things right, but not really doing anything. Blvd is a while later, when street life begins to take its toll. He becomes more distant and lonely, ect. Then Are We the Waiting, where he starts to question his own purpose/sanity (maybe both? he says The jesus of suburbia is a lie") Anyways then he meets/becomes (i'v heard its another person and also a split personality) called saint jimmy, a die hard 100%hardcore slightly psychotic rebel punk. Anyways Give Me Novacaine goes off into him and jimmy doing illegal drugs and stuff, and wanting the pain to go away. Then he meets whatsername in She's A Rebel. He is total fascinated by her and likes her I guess. Extraordinary girl describes JoS (jesus of suburbia) and whatsername's "relationship" which is slowly falling apart. Then Letterbomb (a fav of mine). The song starts off with (in my opinion) a recording from whatsername saying everyones left JoS and is having fun without him. Then he starts talking about how his hometowns changed, (or the city he is in) how everything is different. But its not over till your underground, and its not all before too late. and about how saint jimmy is a figment of your fathers hate and your mothers love, (also noted in the album as son of rage and love) Then in the last half he is talking back to whatsername. "Well she said I can't take this town, I'm leaving you tonight." Then we come to Wake Me Up when September Ends. This talks about how he looks back on all he's done, not sure if he is home or heading home. "AS my memory rests but never forgets what I lost." may talk about whatsername, and losing her. "Bring out the bells again, like we did when spring began" may be something he did back at his home. Then Homecoming. This is the death of saint jimmy, remembering whatsername, and coming home. JoS finally leaves saint jimmy (he says he threw his brains into the bay, in the state of mind. So is it a split personality?)anyways "well nobody cares, does anyone care, if nobody cares?" is talking about no one cares the world may be shit, they are fine and arnt gunna help JoS in his world. East 12th street is jus talkin about JoS thinkin about his past life at work now, "cigaretts and coffee with the underbelly." i think the underbelly is his group of friends. Then nobody likes you is remembering what went wrong with whatsername, how she never showed up. As for rock& rollgirlfriend, i heard this was a postcard from some one JoS met on the streets, named Tammy or something, but not sure. Anyways coming home again is jus remembering how he came home i guess, or he is comming home... I thougth he woulda been home tho. And then whatsername, the obvious missing her and its been so long he cant remember her name. "I'de remember the face but i cant recall the name." Anyways flame me to hell, or congratulate me, but ya thats my thots. |

Well I consider myself a loner as well, after listening to this song I thought it was about somone who didn't follow a religion and is telling some religious power to go f**k itself and leave him alone. "I've told you once before, you can't control me." I have noticed church missionary people always try to convert people to christ (as an example) without end. | Lol not all the words apply, but this song kinda describes my situation. See my gf got sick with a mix of mono (from me lol) and tonsilitus. now her dad is telling her we cant kiss for 6 months. Now i have taken some research time and i kno that is total bullshit. but she listens to her daddy, so im stuck. so we have been together for 7~8 months now, and we can only do stuff like we have been together one or two. six months not really being able to love her is really hard. kind of, its tearing my world apart. My mind usually gets the best of me, but all my friends are making out with there gfs, and im just stuck. just a bland world of gray, no color... just locked away in a cold dark cellar for 6 months... i really hate it.
