Garou – Sous Le Vent Lyrics | 17 years ago |
song meaning: Did I forget you? Never! Did you think I was afraid? False! Did I have second thoughts? Think Again! Is it 'over?' No! Just becasue I took a break after the dangers does not mean I have EVER left you! And every time I see you, I am renewed, refreshed, and revived. Great song, aye?? Mmmm |
Chris Daughtry – What About Now Lyrics | 17 years ago |
to me it's significance is a couple that really loved one another and for whatever reasons broke apart. Realizing they still love one another....what about NOW. Good song |
Patty Griffin – I Don't Ever Give Up Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This song makes a painful situation just a bit more bearable...makes those of us who have unrequited love a kindred spirit and able to forge ahead. |
Patty Griffin – (When It) Don't Come Easy Lyrics | 17 years ago |
patty has an amazing voice..hits home every time. and all I can say is thank God we have music to keep our sanity and from falling over the edge. |
Joan Armatrading – The Weakness In Me Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This song means.... oh how silly! If you've lived it..you don't have to recant to others what it 'means.' Its life..its power..its stark reality... and even though I've heard Melissa Etheridge also sing it, I can't imagine anyone else but Joan doing it (except maybe Tracy Chapman). Hey Folks..life is not perfect...but very real! ...........it happens. |
James – Laid Lyrics | 17 years ago |
disagree with the transvestite thingo.. I think it is about two people that are absolutely MAD for each other!......whether they like it or not. A great, fun song....CLASSIC!!! |
Bird York – In the Deep Lyrics | 17 years ago |
To me this mean your life is not always a well-oiled or made-to-order existence. And if you can shake off all the things others have taught you via media and parental rearing...when you learn life is not ideal, it may be frightening, but your knowledge will increase........comes with age. |
Annie Lennox – Why Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Of course when an artist conceives an idea, lyrics, and finally messes with melody..it means something to them, but also can mean whatever we want it to for ourselves...that is the beauty in art! For me it is my intense, ongoing emotional relationship with someone that, for years ,either needs fruition or closure..but we are too afraid to move in either direction. .......This is the book I never read These are the words I never said This is the path I'll never tread These are the dreams I'll dream instead This is the joy that's seldom spread These are the tears... The tears we shed This is the fear This is the dread These are the contents of my head And these are the years that we have spent And this is what they represent And this is how I feel Do you know how I feel 'cause i don't think you know how I feel I don't think you know what I feel I don't think you know what I feel You don't know what I feel |
Damien Rice – Accidental Babies Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I agree that these lyrics posted here are not exactly the way they are supposed to be..that's a shame! And I totally agree with tupelodylan that this is not a cheating song. What exactly is the 'cheating' part anyway? If you love someone, who are you really cheating? Perhaps yourself. The stark truth of this song, the beauty of it's reality are words we wish we could ask without regret. Also speaking from experience! Damien always gets it right! |
Natalie Merchant – Seven Years Lyrics | 17 years ago |
this song..... s e v e n Y e a r s a very long time for unrequited love. |
Demis Roussos – Spring, Summer, Winter, and Fall Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I guess it doesn't take a rocket scientist to tell us what this song is about.. But the way Demis sings it, combined with Vangelis' music makes it most haunting. Powerful. |
Vangelis – I'll Find My Way Home Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I absolutely HATE it when someone claims to say 'this is the TRUE meaning' of a song! If you truly appreciated music, or perhaps aged a bit not just chonologically but emotionally, you'd understand that music lyrics can be ANYTHING you want them to be...that is how we appreciate music! And perhaps it means something entirely differently to Vangelis, but only people with tunnel vision accept lyrics as one way. This is not an attack on the previous thread of Christianity vrs Atheism...just saying to open your ears!!!! You might hear a song that has significant meaning just for you and your life! Have a wonderful day. |
U2 – Bad Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Apparently there are many of you that think this song is about herorine addiction...whatever! One of Bono's greatest gifts is giving us a song to tailor it to our own meanings. I mean, isn't that what true artists really try to do?? To me it is a beautiful understanding of letting go of past stong holds..or trying...like watching your life train wreck before your eyes and then finding a way out!... But no thanks to meaning-well friends, but because you can figure it all out by yourself. FLY!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Garth Brooks – Love Will Always Win Lyrics | 17 years ago |
If you will...........I will and one way or another we'll make it. Whether on this mudane plane or in a secret garden! |
Trisha Yearwood – In Another's Eyes Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Another one of those songs that pay tribute to 'the other' while situations and circumstances do not allow a true heart. When someone cannot tell the world, it will usually spill out somehow! Honesty of feelings will somehow find a way. |
Trisha Yearwood – How Do I Live Lyrics | 17 years ago |
The beautiful desperation! We choose words turned into lyrics to bring the point home. God, I hope everyone gets the chance at least once to feel this way! Trisha Yearwood definately does this song so much better than LeAnne Rimes. |
Damien Rice – The Blower's Daughter Lyrics | 18 years ago |
The blower's daughter is actually the daughter of Damien's instrument teacher .. AND .. the female singer in this piece.. Just google it..you can read all about it! This song has deep and significant meaning to me.... We always want the things we can't have... Doesn't make it wrong or right |
Joan Baez – Diamonds and Rust Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I don't think Diamonds and Rust reveals 'tears and then dried.' What I think it means is, as in all wonderful, set apart relationships, there is 'diamonds'..the closeness..the good times. And 'rust'..the end. Joan sings 'I've already paid'..her heart has already broken once and one more telephone call will not change that. There is another song that Joan sings for Bob.. titled: 'Winds Of The Old Days' What really is the core issue is: Did Bob really love Joan or was she just a 'deviation' for him when he broke up with Suze. Bob and Joan were together romantically for such a short time - after the breakup with Suze - and just before his relationship with his future wife, Sarah. |
Bob Dylan – Ballad in Plain D Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Besides knowing the song is about Bobby, Suze, and Carla, What moves me is the core meaning of just how fragile we are when it comes to love. Bob is sorry he ever published this song, it is one of his most prolific love songs. Just true grit! And I don't agree that the lyrics are not fair.. True feelings are never NOT fair and although they don't need to be validated, to express them is cathartic. Oh..yeah..by the way, Brian...Carla and Dylan made up years ago! |
Blue Rodeo – Till I Gain Control Again Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This song I've listened to by not only Blue Rodeo, but Van Morrison, Emmylou Harris. With Van Morrison's version, Cindy Cashdollar is most excellent and brings out the real feeling to this song on her slide guitar. What this songs means to me is in reality: llove lost in a perfect world: love always there 'nuff said |
Bob Dylan – Just Like a Woman Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Hehe..chuckling at some of your interpretations. I am 53 and followed Zimmie for as long as he has been out! Sailor was dead on! This song is one of his more sensuous renderings but vagueness is his forte! Hey, Bobby is a freaking genius! Just enjoy! If THIS song boggles your mind, God help you with Lay Lady Lay! haha. |
Damien Rice – Older Chests Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I am 53 and music is a passion to me. But I can tell you that even though we get older..we never 'resolve' the fact of change and it's desperate ways to convince us things are better. ........they are not! We remain restless and this 18 year old that hides inside me still seeks for the simplicity. |
Damien Rice – Cold Water Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Whenn I listen to this song...I close my eyes and can almost feel the angels receive me! |
Barenaked Ladies – What A Good Boy Lyrics | 19 years ago |
So powerful this song is to me, that I wrote my son, currently away at college to apologize to him if I ever boxed him in with expectations and pre-conceived notions of what he should, could, would be in his life. Our bond is so special to me and this song caused me to stop and truly appreciate the beautiful man/child I have! |
