This song is so harrowinly beautiful. I work at the Australian War Memorial, so this song strikes such a chord with me. The terrible waste of life on the hills of Gallipolli and the fields on the Western Front will never be forgotten, and im sure i speak for many Australians in saying that. |

amazing how they could take a divisive subject like immigration policy and the tampa farce and dress it up to the best dance track of 2007. such creative music in so many ways. I dare say not too many people would be aware of the songs meaning. But still, its a great nightclub anthem.
btw: in the second verse. im pretty sure the lyrics are
Political ceremony
they'll never
find a happy home for you.

best video clip ever! Very political song with the title refering the farce our world has become and John wanting something done about it. The song isn't that vague which helps with interpretation |

I was with losecontrol i could have sworn it was about a prostitute in some respect. Just the re-occuring theme of money. It seems that Kav is talking in past tense in this song. At a time where the girl is not his unless he shells out some cash for her again. |

I reckon the person in the story is in a hospital bed and the only thing that can make him happy is his lover, not even a clown can erase his lonelyness. |

This song is autobiographical to INXS and recalls their early days playing pub gigs and having to drive home back to the country in the early hours in the morning, not being able to afford city accommodation. |

A vague reference to god, claiming that religon is ideal for people who are stuggling in life and in need of guidance. |

It seems to be referencing to either the stolen generation in Australia or even the British colonisation of Australia in 1788. Either way it is to do with racism and it's need be abandoned so as to see white and black people side by side without predjudice. |
