Also goes on about how ineffective our democracy is thesedays, and if we did end up in such a situation we'd have no power to stop it and be swept along by it- "we dance like marrionettes (puppets, in other words), swaying to the symphony" |

This song is brilliant, always sounds more natural at this speed rather than the slowed down four horsemen. Although yeah, the lyrics and singing in general is better for four horsemen. Good job both Dave's lyrics and singing got much better for the following albums. |

Kind of a "wake up, this is where we nearly are" kind of message. Never quite got why metal is always supposed to be an evil, ignorant type of music, the people playing it are some of the most politically active around. Guess most people are just too scared to sing about this sort of thing, they just try and skip round the truely important issues, and carry on singing about banging bitches in the back of limosines etc. |

I'd say its about heroin, judging by what dave had been through. Whatever, it's a kickass song, shows that thrash doesn't just have to be open e strumming, u just have to be a damn good guitarist to play it otherwise. |

This is great instrumental, Mustaine's always been great at them (see absolution or call of ktulu for other examples). No idea what it's about, but then it's kinda hard with no lyrics. Always had a military sort of feel to it for me, mainly coz of the cavalry bugles at the start and the (possible) reference to the charge of the light brigade in the title. |

I know this is a bit of a wierd meaning, but to me it sounds like it's a about a pilot in a fighter jet with a missile locked onto him, and how he tries to escape it. Strange i know, but if u look at the lyrics they fit it pretty well. |

Can't believe no one has posted on this song, i love it! Especially the unleashed in the east version with the simple, but somewhat unexplicably kickass intro. As far as the meaning, I'd say the title pretty much says it all, unless there's some more specific meaning that i'm not aware of. |

Definitely one of their best songs, if not one of THE best songs ever. Hard to tell what it's about, but it seems like whoever is narrating has been tricked by this dreamer deciever, and hence it leads right into the more angry deciever. |

Yeah I agree with you about the meaning there Arm, it is a bit "America is such a righteous country, how could someone evilly kill our civilians?". Casually forgetting that only 60 years ago America completely totalled two Japanese cities, killing over 200,000 innocent civilians. Apart from the meaning, it's a great song though. |
