I thought it was about her feeling like she wasn't good enough. ' i'm not as pretty as those girls in magazines' means she thinks shes ugly. The roses mud thing could be that shes had a rough past and won't always be great or she came from like a 'bad' family. Shes going through shit and she doesn't really feel supported is all the rules and lies and words stuck in her throat. I agree that the sleeping with a friend of mint thing is just paranoia. This song is completely how I feel bout my boyfriend at the moment. love it!!!! |

Wow it is so cool that everyone can relate this to their own experiences. It really shows off a well written song. This reminds me of my ex boyfriend too. We always break up and then get back together and then he got a new gf and went away for two weeks and I got a new boyfriend. He got back last night so we meet up, We could'nt stay away from each other. We didn't actually hook up but we were holding hands and hugging and making excuses for it. Now I have to break up with my boyfriend because I can't be with him and thinking about someone else and I most definitely don't want to cheat on him and the only reason we didn't hook up last night was because we didn't want to hurt our partners. The whole next time will be perfect thing reminds me of our belief it will get better. I love the box set version of this song. I thought it was about how he loved the drugs/ciggarettes
and someone he was with was against him taking them so he has to clean up before she gets home and then she is suspicious hence the something in her eyes. Maybe the getting older and eating vegetables is about how he feels hes being treated like a child so hes taking the piss out of her. Like hes telling her hes being healthier and then getting stoned of his face while shes away!!!! |

Yea i kinda agree with the whole broken relationship thing but when he says the situation wasn't quite as intense as i thought. Maybe its about thinking your in love and then finding out that your feelings werent that strong and the saviours bit could be about girls that thought he was like a lost soul and were trying to fix him so hes calling her a saviour although sarcastically. |

Ok kids story time.... A little while ago i went through a really bad time and resorted to weird measures to cope. I started to cut myself with a razor to control the pain. DO NOT TRY AT HOME!!! i got a great bf but he wanted to know about my past and he was really pushing me one night and i blurted it all out. H e acted akll great and understanding and said it wouldn't change anything. Surprise surprise it did. I can realte to this song because of the never wanted you yto see the screwed up side of me thing and also i didn't mean to be but i think sometimes i was a little distant from him becos i didn't want to get hurt again. He was an escape 4 a while 'like a drug that got me high' but lets just say it didn't end great. |

11 years ago yesterday weither by murder or suicide one of the greatest musicians of our generation died. Does that make anyone else immenesly sad. I think personally that this song is about how society has all these views on how everybody else should be and most of them contradict each other eg. dowsed in mud soaked in bleach. But who knows that line could be about racism in itself. any way thats what this song means to me. Love you kurt. |
