Interesting thoughts so far by everyone. Kudos to "luciuss" on pointing out the recurring themes that are present in both this solo effort and in what The Killers have done in the past. I, too, think this is about a relationship where one party is saved, so to speak. So many times, we hear the stories of the knight in shining armor coming in and saving the damsel in distress; but why can't it be a dude in distress being saved by his dame in shining armor? That's what I see here: a girl who is stronger than her male, and both being okay with that. |

totally agreed... but i haven't heard a thing from 7m3 in a while now. at any rate, i see this as a letter to an ex... someone he never thought he could get over. maybe she did something to him - shut him out of her life? - that caused him to find someone else with whom he's happier. so he's thanking her for whatever it is that she did. kinda self-explanatory, if you ask me. take care. |
