I can't believe there aren't more comments...this song is right up there with thier best. This song really reminds me of Depeche Mode's style. Heres what I think its about Web of youth is a common metaphore for a guy being attracted to young flesh. So he meets this girl, and at first he thinks hes just hot for her body...but then as he interacts with her more and more, she gets under his skin, and he is seduced by her. Shes pretty much a woman of pure seduction. Almost makes me think of a succubus. |

When I hear this song it chokes me up a bit. Imagine it as an analogy for growing up. The wild boys are a group of teenagers. They all set out to have a good time and figure out the world, party, and cut loose. Now these boys are known to be party animals, and when they come back to thier hometown they are treated like strangers, and blamed for everything. They are trying to make these boys take on responcibility, but they want nothing of it. And in thier minds everything is telling them to fight it. |

Ok, sure, the lyrics are short....but they are meaningful. Hes singing about a girl that really hasn't made anything of her life yet. For one reason or another she hasnt lived her life yet. And what a shame it is that someone should die without having lived thier life. But theres more to it..destiny has something greater in store for her...but it is in death that she will find it. So she has to plunge bravely into something that all men fear, death. Theres nothing kind about it in this sense, its seemingly taking away her chance. You cant tell me towards the end you dont hear the sincerity in his voice as he belts out the chorus No Fear... |
